Considering I'm the one that started the thread - I know what version I was referring to - I completely current and up to date 5.0. Now i'm ending this useless banter. Go hijack someone elses thread.

This thread is about BES 5.0 not BES 5.0.1. The compatibility listings between service packs of BES are completely unrelated. Therefore you cannot and should not quote a different version. And I did view the link you posted. Again, SQL 2008 is NOT compatible with BES 5.0, so don't try it. If you do, RIM will not support it. If you call RIM they will not support any issues you have due to an unsupported environment. Basic issues I'm...

Looking to implement this in the next few months, what OS and SQL versions did you use?

I agree it's easy and an awesome feature, especially for the price! I have to wait till I can upgrade one of my remote offices servers to be able to handle a few VMs before I can implement it though. booooo

Quickpull on BES
Published (2009-11-27 11:23:00)
I found out what permissions need to be changed. It turns out there are a few that are denied by default through application control policy. Is there a way to change what the defaults are or will I be required to push out Quickpull from the BES? It would be preferrable to allow our users to install applications themselves and give them full access to permissions.

Owner Info not Pushing to device
Published (2009-11-30 18:37:00)
I have an IT policy in place and I push the owner info from the BES (5.0) to the device. I recently changed to a 9700 and this field is not populating on the phone. Today I activated a standard user on an 8310 and the same situation. Any ideas? This is something that has worked seemlessly in the past for my self and many others, including different IT policies.

BES Blackberry Device Model Not...
Published (2009-11-30 11:53:00)
I am having the same problem with the device models not showing up on a new BES 5.0 server. I have the problem with migrated user's phone and new phones. I have updated the device.xml and the vender.xml and I have also tried resending the service books to the clients but no luck. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

I would suggest contacting the carrier since there might still be an issue with them?

Hmmm, I don't think there's a way to activate two devices with the same address. But, if you really want it to work, I'd try to have mail delivered to the original address forwarded automatically to another, and activate this new address on the other device. Would use two licences, and would probably be a PITA to get both devices to send from the same address. Just a thought...
