Wirelessly posted (8820) The usb on my wife's 8100 crapped out. Bummer. But I grabbed my old 8700g I've hung onto, restored the 8100 backup, put in wife's SIM, put battery back in, went to my-tmobile, got prompted to change PIN, and inside of about 30 minutes wife is back in business until she decides what she wants to do about a new blackberry. I mean, just how cool is that. Well, my wife didn't appreciate just how cool...

The "sure press" screen is a gimmick that RIM should abandon. I can't believe, well yes I can believe, that RIM has had a year to work on version 2 of their touch screen device and still haven't gotten it right.

The OP was too mad to ever say But since he did say "tour" in the thread title, I assume he meant the 4.7.1.61 upgrade is being pushed by Verizon now.

Finally banned. Though it appears only temporary. Hopefully he learns his lesson. Out of sight, out of mind. @ Kathryn and CoDudette, as well as any other members that were offended by ApacheIndian's comments, I would like to extend my apologies on his behalf as he has neglected to do so.

You're just not a happy fella are you?
Why would you care if it came on a holiday week? Big deal, it doesn't require hand-holding to perform the upgrade. Just do a backup of the device first, and get on with it.

I feel that it may be a bit over-hyped. But I do like the smaller form factor. However, I wish this had the 8900 keyboard on it. My emailing isnt nearly as quick and precise as it was on my 8900. So, all in all, I wish the 8900 had the 9700 trackball. Other than that, its just, "ok".

Gotta disagree with you on that. Do you really want to read a book on a tiny screen?
That would be Amazon deal, wouldn't it?

They wanted to run diagnostics on a scratched screen? Didn't they mean "forensics"?
