OS upgrade issue...HELP !!!!
Published (2009-11-13 14:02:00)
Well, so far, I've moved my music and ringtones folder back on the card and using the phone for the past 5 hours. Seems to be working. I also think it's an issue with the pictures folder. Coz everytime earlier, i'd try to browse that, and the phone would reboot. So I'll just go back home (at work now) and get this sorted...will keep you posted though. Must say you're a gift from heaven jsconyers....i was devastated...

Wirelessly posted (8820) Until someone else comes along with a better answer: Have you tried using the switch device wizard in desktop manager? Don't know if it works with your model phone, but that's the first thing to try. If you have Outlook and you can get the phone data into Outlook, you will then be able to sync the data with the blackberry using desktop manager. You can also sync with Yahoo, and several other options. Take a...

Prepaid Popup Notification
Published (2009-11-06 04:17:00)
The operator won't be able to disable the notification for my number alone, so that is not a possibility. @dorojm: Do you use a BB 8830 as well? Which firmware version are you using? I am getting the sound notification in Quiet/Silent mode also and thats what I am worried about as I don't mind the popup notification but the sound is annoying

I figured out to type ##000000 to access the service menu where I changed the phone number and the Home SID to (what i think is) my correct one. However, when I make a call I just get an automated Verizon message saying that it is going to connect me to an outside operator and that I can complete my call with a credit card. How do I fix this?!?!

Problem with blackberry email

Both outlook and the BB go to your IP server to get mail...depending on timing and whether you have the programs set to leave mail on the server or not (as above) will determine what gets to which...

Of course doing this IN Outlook will be a lot easier. working on that one, my office is set up on msn exchange so syncing is not possilbe at work BUT i do a...

OS upgrade issue...HELP !!!!

What version of OS did you install? Was it for the 8800 specifically? You may need to wipe with Jl_cmdr (see our FAQ) and reinstall another OS version.

Transfer data from 7250 to 8830
Published (2009-11-09 15:12:00)
Well, I think I've got it. Seemed the key was Wiping the device. Now when I restore to the 8830 it does import my data. When I tried the Switch Device Wizard I got a message saying that an application that uses dialup is open and that I should close it and Retry. We don't do any dialup; we use MSExchange. But anyway, I closed everything except what was involved with the Blackberry installation and what was in the system tray.......

Do you know how to find it? From messages app, menu > options > view saved messages
It isn't hard to accidently save a message and not realize what you've done.

Are you using the Switch Device Wizard to move stuff to the new device or are you restoring the data from the 7250 backup file?
Yes, you should wipe the data from the 8830 first. When you get to Security Options -> General Settings press the Menu button and Wipe Handheld is no the pop-up menu.

No, its a carrier thing that they MAY be able to disable.
i.e. they may be able to stop it, but there isnt an option for you to stop it on your BB.
call them, it cant do any harm to ask if they can stop it.
