Make sure the settings in DM are correct. Try a battery pull on the BB (seems to fix many strange errors). Might also try removing the media card (another strange one that will sometimes fix errors). If all else fails, you might need to wipe the device and go back to the old OS. The forums are full of posts from those who try to fix their unbroken devices and the problems that arise. Could also be a memory issue on the BB. Just a post saying...

You try installing the Tmo ver of the OS? I'm using an ATT 8310 on Tmo without any service book issues or anything else. Had some fun loading the 8320 Tmo OS on the phone, but working fine now.

Sounds like typical moisture damage. Has the device been exposed to ANY moisture? Even a little tiny bit? Sweaty pocket? Steamy bathroom? Wet hands? Wet hair? Dew? High humidity environment? Anything like that? It doesn't take much moisture to cause damage.

It's not a matter of which carrier OS you load, the service books are pushed from your own carrier, regardless of the OS.

Wirelessly posted (8820) Here is what I would try first: Move all of the media files from the media card to a folder on your computer. Just the media files; not any of the .dat files or anything else, but just the actual audio and video files. Then delete everything, including any hidden files, from the media card. Then either sync the media back to the card, or copy it to the card, ...

JL_Cmder removes the entire OS from the device, leaving it at a JVM 507 error. The security wipe only removes the data from the device and leaves the OS in tact. However, you don't need to run either when upgrading your device. I never wipe my device prior to upgrading. Some people say they do to get a "clean" install, but a wipe is done during the install process prior to loading the new ...

What browser are you using? I don't thin IE runs on the BB. Have you tried a battery pull to see if that helps? How much free memory do you have. That could be a cause. How many apps are running in the background? that would also slow things dow, especiallly if they are data intensive apps.

Wirelessly posted (8820) You define what is level 1. I guess by default PIN messages are set as level 1, but you can change that. But more importantly, you can use BIS filters to define messages from certain addresses or domains as level 1. So you might set any email from anyone from your company or employer as level 1, or your children, your spouse...whatever you choose to do.

log in to the BIS site on a pc/mac. enter username and password, it will then show the screen you can enter your email. However, as its the same BIS site as your previous phone, you need to use the CHANGE DEVICE option, entering the NEW blackberry's PIN. This will the push the service books, including for your email, onto your new device.

It's not a virus. Could be a glitch. Most likely culprit is the microSD media card. Try removing that, and see if the reboots stop.

No you cannot sync mail. The way its working, is the way its supposed to work. Blackberry (BIS) can reflect changes on the server, but not in an email client such as Outlook Express. There's nothing you can do. Its working as its supposed to do.
