Google Maps help
Published (2009-11-14 07:01:18)
Hey, I've been having trouble with google maps. Every time I open it, it loads the map, then after a few seconds of using it i get a data connection lost retrying error and it never gets connection back. Blackberry maps works fine as well as everything else on the phone. I have an unlocked 9530 on tmobile. I did all the service books and everything works fine, but google maps. i'm on .151 Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I'm on VZW, with a 9530 on v5.0.0.328, and use Google maps just fine. Resolves to a just a few meters. When you update the OS, it backs everything up and restores it all, and perhaps it restored the problem along with everything else. Before settling on re-upping on VZNav, I'd: 1) do a complete wipe (I use JL_Cmder ), 2) reinstall the OS, and 3) reinstall the apps. A beta OS that messed me up bad left trouble for one app after...

Just an update work just as well on the Stock Sasktel settings, think all that was wrong was not having all the boxs checked and no position set. It has made such an improvment it is un real. Getting 11 birds sat in my basement, before I could not get anything even outside. off to find a good free satnav progr Thanks

Google Maps/Locations

This post was really a matter of curiosity - I generally know where I am (especially if I'm actually at home). But it was also about inaccuracies in Latitude, which becomes pretty useless if it's 5 miles off. GPS doesn't work when I'm inside, athough I actually find it very accurate if I'm outside and really want to know where I am.

GPSLogger v0.4.1 I would like to use the opportunity to present the first release of an application that I have written for the BB (tested with 8800, 9000 & 9500). It's a quite straight forward application, that is recording your movement with your BB-phone over time - this includes Elevation and Speed (and some more data). The main motivation to write this application was first of all ...

Wirelessly posted (8820) To get blackberry maps back, try this. Connect to desktop manager and select the add/remove programs app. Proceed to the page that lists the apps. Is blackberry maps checked? If not, check it. Also see if there is anything else you want that is not checked. Then proceed to finish installing.

Thats the interesting thing, it always keeps the EDGE connection. Even when i exit out of google maps and still shows i have a connection. the gps works, it will reposition me but the map never loads, it just loses the connection. I cant figure out the problem.

Did you try BB Maps? There was at one time an issue with GoogleMaps on Verizon phones. The 1/2 mile error you see is because it is using cell tower triangulation to get a fix until GPS locks on. Can you get a lat/long on the GPS screen itself?
