1994 325iS high idle surging?????
Published (2009-11-26 01:57:00)
Alright, the problem isn't fixed yet but I was able to get codes from my car by stepping the gas down all the way five times, with key in run, within 5 seconds, and count the four digit codes. 1221 kept repating. That means the O2 sensor is bad. Also 1211, which means the O2 sensor has bounced off it's limits. That makes sense because of the rich condition making it rev up. I also learned from Mr. Bently that the O2 sensor is heated...

my inline 6 has a timing chain, but i'm sure it would still be a pain in the ass... i don't think my car is worth it...i would probably sell it and buy another one.

Air Mass Meter Question
Published (2009-11-23 18:27:00)
Thru process of elimination i've determined the air mass sensor is bad or dirty. I've tried cleaning it and it still was acting up, now i'm trying to clean it again along with the electrical connection. If i need to replace it, do i need to buy the whole plastic tube and all or does the sensor pull out and i just need to replace that?

Yeah Torque that car looks really nice. I like the lowering you have going on. Could you please provide details on your lowering. I have been wanting to lower mine but it runs so smooth I haven't messed with it. However, I think the car looks ten times better. Mine is a 2 door though so it may look a little different. I like the four doors better myself. I have always been a fan of lowered 4 doors.

O2 sensors information
Published (2009-11-18 18:17:00)
Interesting, I always knew they were tied in but when monitoring on the program for OBD intake rises and cools as I accelerate and coolant temp sensor starts out about 76-80df and slowly as engine idles goes to about 203 after 10-15 minutes. Does this appear to be normal? I also detected no vacuum from the one of the secondary air solenoid going back to the air pump and valve on exhaust side.I replaced the solenoid and the pump worked for 5...

Ok, with a little reading in the Bently manual, I find that the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator has good vacuum. According to the manual, when you disconnect the hose the fuel pressure should increase, it does not say how much. My idle problem does not change when I remove the hose. Im leaning towards the regulator being bad because of no change in rpm when its disconnected. Anyone ...

I would have to say fix it right the first time and you don't have to worry about it agian. I learned that the hard way with my first car.

I've actually never heard of this before. I'll ask one of my friends who's a mechanic and see what he thinks about it. Hopefully, someone before me will be able to give you some idea.

Have a look in the E36 section about cooling system issues. Have you seen a history report like Carfax? Does the seller have service records you can review?

If it has gotten to that point, cutting and welding new patches may be the only good answer.

I would start by checking the fuses, the manual should tell you which fuse corresponds to your window. Do your other windows work? If not it may be your comfort relay.
