That is something I saw on my E30
325i; have a look at the intake ducting. Small cracks are a likely issue and replacement should be the fix.

definitely pull the
taillights, (it's only 3-4 bolts) and run a bead of silicone acros the tops.
if you want to be certain of where it is leaking, open the trunk and pour water in the channel starting at the middle by the glass, make sure to have some towels handy to catch spills and leaks. the water will run down the channel and show where the leaks are.

i did this conversion, made a huge power difference...
I honestly have no idea how to mate these to an
M20 but i cant imagine its that difficult, im sure its been documented somewhere...i will keep my eyes peeled
