Old wiring topic AGAIN
Published (2009-11-25 19:58:00)
I would probably start at the front blinkers, and then the rears for wire shorts. Does it only blow the fuse when doing blinkers, or wipers as well? I'm not a blinker guru, just some basic guru stuff. Check the wiring to foglights as well, just incase jerry-rigged. Robert

I can imagine what you mean, but can't figure out where I can find it. Will check it tommorow. It's "butterfly" throttle lever we speak about? yes, it should be what your throttle cable hooks to. that is the lever arm. somewhere off that should be a stepped choke cam. snap a few pics of our carb and i can tell you what to adjust

Rally lights??

Totally doing it. I bought the Hella 500s from a forum member. Going for this look: I've removed the front US bumper and I'm going to Fab a bar to mount across the bumper mounts and hold the lights down about bumper hight so as not to obstruct the grill too much. Actually more like this:

e12 vs. e21 recaros
Published (2009-11-25 21:06:00)
I've never seen an E12 with recaro's, unless you count the early E24 with the E12 chassis. They should probably not be vinyl like E21 seats, but all recaro's have the same mounting pattern. Get the proper brackets and they will fit any car that they make brackets for. If they really are for an E12 they may not have the ability to tilt forward for back seat access.

nothing wrong with pelican parts from my experience. sounds like you need to shop else where. even if the price was right, i wouldnt repeatedly go back to a shop that you have described.

Outside of the usual/obvious "check the voltages at the relay vs the expected voltages" advice, I do have much to say...
... but I'm curious about one thing: How did you localize the heat to a single terminal on the relay? How did terminal 49a "show heat?"

Is it a water or electric choke? You describe parts of both. Hardly anyone here is using carbs, try the 2002 section of this site. It should be easy to find information on the weber 32/36, thousands of cars use them.

Anyone have any experience with using automatic trans fluid as a top end carbon clean-out? I just heard from a guy that it's (in his experience anyway) better than water, and cheaper than Seafoam. He said let it suck in slow to a vacuum line, so as not to kill it, and it'll smoke like a dog, but it cleans the sh*t out. My motor has always pinged even on premium, and ...

Sounds like the AFM was adjusted in the past to compensate for fuel system issues.
Try adjusting the AFM about 1/8 - 1/2 turn CCW to lean it. Keep track how far you adjust it - just incase you come across another problem in the future.
Reminds me of when I changed my fuel filter a few months ago. A whole 1/2 turn CCW for it to even start.
You'll need a long allen wrench or torx, I ...

If memOry serves in Cali unless the car is older than 1975 you have to do smog and I believe that you need the original engne in the vehicle. But I'm good at being wrong
