I'll admit, Landon's PK tonight was a bit frightening as a US fan, when you think about how often we rely on him to convert penalties. But yes, if the game is on the line, I'd rather Donovan take penalties for us than anyone else.

Even after the Charlie Davies disaster I didn't think Adu would find a spot on Nats roster without first seeing the field in Portugal...
However, now that we see that guys like Casey and EJ are of no use we will have a few more spots open in the next friendlies leading to WC10...
Honestly it couldn't hurt to give him and maybe a guy like Findley a shot because we have nothing to lose as...

Eh, I'm not so sure about that.
Yeah that was messed up what happened to the Irish but France is still a team that can dominate when they decide to turn it on, similiar to Italy.
I just want a decent draw, no groups of death.
That sh!t draw that we got for the 2006 WC pretty much ended any chances that we might have had before the matches even started.

Although I'm worried about the injuries to DeMerrit, Onyewu, and Davies. I have to say that the results of the playoffs went in our favor. Algeria is a good side but weaker than Egypt, Slovenia is weaker than Russia, and Greece is weaker than Ukraine. If we get any of those four teams in our group I think we'd be able to beat them. There's nothing in this article to suggest either national team is looking at him, although if the article is correct that he has Mexican parents then he would have dual nationality.
Given our troubles in center defense and his outstanding season in MLS this year, I'd be surprised if Bob doesn't call Gonzales in for camp cupcake. And then we'll see.

No matter what you say..............never ever being used as a sub the last 2 years....will be something that will create a major conflicting discussion between people who think he should be used as a sub sometimes vs. People (who probally also agree, but just cover it up) that still post that it was ok for him to never be used as a sub....
