motherfksonofabitch........ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! So my internet has been fine the whole goddamn time I've have Shaw. My HD TV service has been the shits. Every single time a tech comes for the TV problems, he looks at my cable modem and says "oh by the way, you should exchange that for the new ones..they're better". This completely goes against ONE tech who told me, "off the record"...DONT exchange...

When I need components I always try (in this order) MRO, Active, B&E, Digikey Usually I am impatient like a little kid and want whatever I want the same day and don't want to wait for shipping. That said, Active tends to be massively over-priced on almost everything, so you really do pay for convenience. MRO has been pretty reasonably priced and have been really good about getting me components on the same day, plus they have...

If you upgrade to the latest firmware in stock form you will not be able to unlock. There is a lot to learn about this, I suggest reading up on the hackint0sh forum, because the quantity of mis-information you will get here is dangerous.

Hum....why didn't you just go to Fido and have them port the number....that way you get it for sure, now you stand a chance that it will be picked up by someone else. I don't really understand why you would cancel first and then go looking, should have arranged for fido to take care of everything for you....

Big difference was that you were probably not on contract then. If your on month-to-month only, then less chance you'll get any sort of a "deal" (just like the prepaid customers), unless you want to sign a 2 or 3 year commitment.
