M271 - oil in connectors? - Page...
Published (2009-11-04 21:43:00)
That's just dirt & grime, there's no visible leak. What happens is the leak is in the bushing that seals the wires & connector, so the oil seeps into the harness. The only way to tell is to pull off the connector and see if there's oil inside the connector.

Published (2009-11-02 19:10:00)
You are absolutely right, non benz owner should get away from here. After all, IMHO, the test drive of that W203 was ok not too impressive nothing like my R53 which I still love it dearly. I am having problem as of now trying to find a car that is comparable to my r53. thats why I am looking for another car for my daily drive so that i dont put a lot of miles on the r53. in which I am sure those cheap korean car will do the job just fine. If i...

OIL CHANGE NIGHTMARE. URGENT
Published (2009-11-07 15:10:00)
Update: Since the last time I put oil in it, all is good. The engine revs good, no noise. However, I am a bit concerned about too much oil. How will I know if there is too much? Does the Sensor tell you that? I took it to the wash and got it degreased. (Used the cheap stuff from their place) It cleaned it up pretty good, no electrical issues (knock on wood) I've been driving it a little (60 miles on new oil) so im sure that I would have...

HELP - Car Will Not Start
Published (2009-11-03 14:35:00)
Just an FYI the next time the starter won't turn even with a jump-start...try disconnecting the vehicle's battery and then power it solely by the booster pack or other vehicle. A dead cell in the battery will introduce enough resistance into the circuit so even the best booster or external battery won't work. Of course don't do this unless you know what you are doing as you could damage the vehicle's sensitive...

Passenger Door Help
Published (2009-11-03 13:03:00)
Hey, sorry for the bump- My door switch on the passenger side bit it today. I was quite surprised, since there is only a couple mm's of a lip on both sides to hold it in place, rather than having a significantly smaller hole, using the body to reinforce it, as I've seen on other makes. Anyhow, what kind of pricing, and part numbers to order? Was there ever an updated switch, or a change in design to be aware of, as I have an early 203.

Published (2009-10-31 14:42:00)
I think it was a badly seated elcectrical connector to the transmission or a sticky valve in the valve body. I removed all valves cleaned, lubricated and excercised them, reseated everything and filled up with Castrol Import ATF with my home made dipstick - with thanks to you all on this forum. The transmission now functions flawlesly with the Sonnax sleeve kits. Shifts like Buttah! Relief...time for a beer! (:

Stretched Timing Chain
Published (2009-11-02 11:09:00)
4.5 hours from a non-pro and 22 hours for the pro's. So pathetic. It's so unfortunate the problems with the M271. Must've been the Chrysler influence? The m111 doesn't have these issues. Though I threw a code last night, and got a misfire. Likely it's another coil pack. I always keep a spare on hand as they're so much cheaper online than locally.

I'm not an authority on this, but I think you are OK. The low oil indicator (not intended to be the 'you've melted your engine' indicator) did its job. There were a couple quarts left, so you likely had an adequate supply of fresh, high-quality oil circulating through the motor. Hopefully you didn't run the engine to redline along the way, which would have increased the possibility of the pan ...

My '04 C230K took Mercedes-Benz Hydraulic Oil - Pentosin CHF 11S and the part # on my can says Q 1 32 0001
Cost me $18 / quart at the dealership.
As for location, I have no idea on the C320. I'd look at the owner’s manual at maybe the belt routing and look for the power steering pump location and go from there, should see a reservoir and cap in that general area.

I replaced the voltage regulator attached to the alternator and problem solved. For some reason, the alternator shop did not see the issue. Worry free motoring since (almost a year ago).

auto a/c means auto a/c. this button will balance the temp you want inside
the car, this button will follow what temp you but in the two center knobs.
it will also be using various vents to do this. sometimes it flushes out
air by the windshield first then through the vents. you know what i mean..
so yeah.. i still use the manual mode more often..

Well it has the remainder of the factory warrenty for things that may come up after a purchase. Price seems about right but I'm sure there's room to move down from the $22k starting price. I'd say $20k is fair. I got my 07 with more miles for a lot less CPO'd in May of this year... It does seem like the market is coming back (slightly). As for a C Class or a Civic, I just don't get it? Don't ...

I would spray it off with a water hose. Try and avoid spraying any electrical parts or air filter inlets, but you should be ok. I've sprayed down every car motor I've ever had, and never had a problem. These things are made to be driven in the rain/snow, and through puddles at 55+mph after all. Just don't get crazy shooting high pressure water at any electronic equipement and it should be ...

Try disconnecting your mass air flow sensor, and see if that helps the
situation. If it does you need a new MAFS. Also, you may have pending codes
which haven't set the CEL yet. If you can get a hold of a scanner you
should check for pending codes.

Get a tester and pull the codes in order to narrow down the possibilities.

P0170 and P0171 My 03 C230K sedan has the cel on. The codes are showing P0170 and P0171.
The car runs perfectly and still gets decent fuel economy (~29 mpg hwy). It used to get about 34mpg highway before the cel. Anyways, I've reviewed some of the probable causes and wanted a second opinion. So far it could be:
1. Dirty MAF- I cleaned it thoroughly so this shouldn't be the ...

These cars are way too sophisticated in that you just can't replace a bulb
unless it has the same draw or it will think it's bad, display a message
and cycle on/off. If you are clever enough, you can put a resistor to
increase the wattage of the LED bulbs to what it should be. Do it wrong and
you may set the car on fire. I just wished they used this engineering time
to do something more valuable ...
