The stock Sport brakes are really good on these cars - you'll have to spend big bucks to do much better. Paint the calipers, it's easy.

Springs for 2007 C230
Published (2009-11-25 09:56:00)
Yeah I've had owned a Kw Set of coilovers and they were really really good but they werent meant for daily driving they were stiff , and i tried soften them up and they were still stiff, i cant have a stiff ride on this car. The teins are okay but they are almost the same its got that coilover feeling which i cant stand. I guess im going to go with the h&r springs and see how it goes from there.

you can buy a bbk set like Brembo, Stop Tech or other companies that come painted, but its gonna run you a couple grand for the front and a couple more for the rear.
You can do it yourself with a paint kit called G2, which they sell at the local auto stores. It's paint specifically made for brake calipers
or you can take it down to a shop to do it. HMS(Harbor Motorsports) in Huntington ...

check your guide arm bushings, on the c class they are known to fail often. they cause a clunking noise in the front end going over bumps. will also cause noise on any road.

I might be interested in it. Will it fit without problems in an 03 C240
4MATIC? And how much are you looking to sell it for?

These cars are so low I had no luck with lifting them and jack stands. I
suggest ramps, they make servicing these cars very easy. If you do lift it,
you will want to put jack stands under the subframes, and they will need to
be low, wide jack stands.

In 2004.5, the sport model (C230) got lowered springs by about 3/4", so in theory, if you put Eibachs that netted me 1" on my 2002 C230, you would only net a 1/4" drop. Check out H&R coil overs and see if that will get you more, those drop like 2" from stock.

Chirping? There have been reports of bad alternator bearings chirping. If
it's squealing, the tensioner is likely bad and it will need to be
serviced.

It's hard to see where you live since you don't have your profile updated, so I'll make the assumption that your are in the U.S. You can get the service CD's from your local MB parts department. If they play dumb, and most aren't really playing, you can find the part number for it by searching the forum for it.
