Okay so you guys are dying to know the "Behind The Scenes" and why Roy came down. The quick answer is that Mark came down with the Flu and could not come as scheduled. On Friday and Saturday, when Mark and I were talking about how crazy this was, and could be really be real, and would even still be there, we agreed that no matter what, we had to see. And IF it was real and still there, then we had to save it. We also both...

Ah so the forklift was why the fenders got dinged a bit. No biggie! Better fiberglass than dinged metal! Its good that the car doesn't have to sit flush and flat on the ground. The interior is nothing like the Benzes I see at the JY's here. No mercy on them, carpets dash clusters climate controls, and console ripped out to get at one part. It is AMAZING how the corporate guys at the yard bent WAY over to accomodate you - that speaks...

I prefer the all one colour. The seperate colour cladding can look really nice but its just a bit more of an era, more modern without it.

you have one for each behind the rear seats mounted under the rear windows. If you remove the fuse to the extender that is not working you may rset it. If you don't know which fuse it is just disconnec the battery and reconnect. Unless you have other mech problems w/it. it should work.

Color is absolutely your preference. I happen to love my Bright Silver SEC with the lower cladding, door handles, and mirror backs the same color as the body. I'll give you the same recommendation as was made to me. There is NO benefit painting the car a Mercedes color. I painted mine PPG Chrysler Bright Silver (PS2) rather than Mercedes Bright Silver (744) for several reasons. The main one is...

It's fairly easy-- if you're replacing an old one, there are two screws at the front and one at the rear (accessible from inside the box), if I recall. Screws are about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long (not too long so no deep penetration below the plastic of the console). If you're installing the box into the space where there was none, remove the carpet that's there, and screw it down per the previous ...
