I'm pretty close to calling for an early morning meet on Hwy 113 between Davis and Woodland. Great divided highway with 10 miles of good surface and little traffic about anytime you drive it. Hmmmm...where's that 3-4 shift supposed to happen? http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&so...ed=0CAwQ8gEwAA

I find it looks very nicely stated. Really like the burl, personally - not pimp... just 'stylin' ! Curious what it's like lit-up at night? That must be when the Swarovski kicks-in

rear light seals is another common leak point (ignore the aerial - wrong side), but your suggestion that the seal is on wrong may well be the goods, it should not be difficult to close the lid even with a new seal, they often seem to get put on the wrong way around.

NICE! Numbers should go down as you fine tune. I'm still getting 5500rpm shifts/fuel cutouts across all gears - FPR is behaving like a U.S. 500 at 5500rpm. Once transmission service/adjustment is done, I'll retest w/ various FPR's at hand. I also have Dynolicious for the iPhone - I'd think the iPhone's gmeter would be better than the Magellan's. Just need someone to hold the darn thing while I DRIVE. Here's...

One of the roving mechanics dropped off two center roll top boxes. One in parchment/burl wood with key, and a very clean black / zebrano sans key.
Also got a pair of W126 Euro lights.
Observation: I have looked at many sets of Euro lights during the last 3 years or so.
On average, they needed at least one new reflector, and often a lens.
Otherwise it takes 2 sets to complete one good pair....

you will HAVE to use the search function on this one as there would have to
be at least 150 threads about changing US to Euro headlights, where to get
them, how to do it, troubleshooting etc, etc, etc.....

Looking from under the rear bumper of the car, on the lower right corner of the diff housing there is a metal tag with a long German word on it. If you have the tag, you have a LSD, no tag, no LSD.

I've had my stock 420 up to 131MPH (If i was more ballsy, I suspect it would top out around 140). I'd love to have a 560, but I consider any car that can do 130+MPH a performance machine..
Total trip time: West Richmond, VA to Tysons Corner VA in 72 minutes. I wish I could put that in some sort of records database...

IF you have a 1986 500SEL Euro (Gen 2), then $4-8k.
IF you have a 1985 500SEL Euro (Gen 1), figure the same, minus 20%.
IF you have a 1986 560SEL US spec, figure $2-3k.
IF you have a 1986 560SEL Euro spec, the sky's the limit!!!
If its a 420SEL, then part it.

Well done. All but the rear door panels should fit, i would have thought.
But then seperately, rear door panels shouldnt be hard to find? And how
about all the other trim, theres loads of little pieces of trim and plastic
that are colour co-ordinated on the interior. Are you bothering with those
to make it all match? I cant remember you original interior colour, perhaps
it wouldnt look too bad ...
