Most often it is those little return hoses that leak. You can get the Diesel rated return hose from the MB Dealer, NAPA or the VW Dealer (used on the older VW Rabbit Diesels). The 2 Dealers sell in a 1 Meter length. Vacuum Hose for a norma autopart store will only last about a week if that. A slight Fuel leak in that area is no hazard. But, Fuel soaking into the Engine Mounts can shorten their life. And, in some States if the Police see a leak...

The OM606 vs. OM617

Climate Control NO RESPONSE!! -...

Sounds very similar to the problems I am having in my '83, although I'm 99% certain my problem is vacuum. Let me ask, with your car running, can you get the main vents to turn on after maybe letting the defrost run for a few minutes? (In my vehicle, it appears that one or more of the actuators related to my non-defrost functions has a slow vacuum leak. At this point, I have no idea where the vacuum is leaking. Nevertheless, if I turn...

I tried the swivel, My ratchet seems to have just enough flex on it so that whenever I put the breaker bar on it it just hits the exhaust pipe. Has anyone else had to cut it out to get their starter out? I'm beginning to think I might have to take this one to the shop

Considering a 300D

Be careful! These cars are too addicting! My stepfather locked his away in storage because he loved his too much, stopped paying the bills on the storage fees to keep the wife away, and then was ectactic when I said I wanted to resurrect it! NOW I'm addicted This is a drug addiction! I'm looking to get a 300$ fix for new axles. If I win the lottery (yeah right) I'm going all out ! New AC, some rust spots, etc. Oh you'll...

The "problem" with diesels is that they will run even with injectors at the wrong opening pressure, but less-than-perfect injectors can/will lead to smoke, vibrations and reduced longevity of the engine. If you don't pop test the injectors you're just relying on luck.

But the other half followed me in the 123, as I drove the 107 to winter storage. I guess it can snow now .

cut the window seal away from the inside of the car, pop the glass out. door top trims are best removed with a piano wire slid under the trim, pull straight away [parallel to the ground] at each clip. they are very soft aluminum and will bend quite easily. i have a plethora of photos of the underside of all this stuff as I have been restoring my wagon for quite some time. here's the thread:...

a) turn off car
b) load it up (maybe take a measuring tape to it and load it until there's a significant difference)
c) turn on car with foot on outside ground, you'll feel the car moving up slowly.
d) alternatively, just measure it again.

Check the lines to your injectors, on maybe loose. Theyre a 17mm, just snug
them a bit. Also check the braided fabric lines to each injector, they
crack over time and ULSD seems to easily penetrate them.

Yes that's hot. Should be 80. Either the sensor's wrong or it's not cooling
properly. My guess would be the thermostat, even the new ones are sometimes
bad.

The engine I swapped in was out of a wrecked station wagon. I only actualy bought the engine. As soon as I get a chance i will check the valves. My experience in the past ie learning the hard way is that if I start tearing things apart then it will only get worse. Im going to crack the injectors again and turn it over until it boils or burns down.

Look around the various forums, check out a few cars, ask any local forum member for help in deciding to pursue that particular car. You may be able to find some articles using google.
But the biggest thing is rust, transmission and engine health.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Holy crappers! Looks like you've got some work ahead of you! The rust is so
bad on my wagon that I need to replace all 4 doors plus the front left
fender. I've never removed the window trim before but the chrome trim piece
along the side window seems to snap in. Occasionally I'll close the door
and it will pop out. I wonder if it's this way everywhere?

Stream. Set the spray to wherever you like using a pushpin to change the aim.
Use the dual nozzle on both sides. Don't forget the plastic angle fitting under it.
