So basically I can sell the car as it is now (does not run), or I can wait until I get it running to sell it. I am almost %100 postive this thing will start right up with a fuel pump. It just about did without a working fuel pump lol. feel free to call me. I already had some scammers calling me about this damn car!

There should be a part number on your old, broken bracket starting with the numbers 616. You will need to find this exact part. Only the Mercedes 240d (w115, w123) and the 207d van had this engine.

You may want to see if the original woodruff key is stuck in the crank. If the bolt came loose it may have sheared the key, then polished it off smooth in the crank. In which case you can take a chisel and tap the remainder out . Pics would help on this, I am sure there are quite a few experienced engine guys on forum. I would exhaust possible fixes before trashing a complete car, but that's ...
