You don't mention anything about your second key. If you don't have one, now you know you should have if. I'm not sure about a 1999 car but the EIS is part of the remote door locks feature and it might be an EIS issue too. If your second key works fine, then it is the first key that needs to be fixed or replaced with a new one.

I will try following combinations..to get into the"secret menu" then I will give up.... # + * + < and * + 3 + < and 3 + 4 + 7 and ok + 7 + mute and 1 + 3 + < after reading the whole thread thats every combination that I can think of....will see....ill be back....

Can anyone tell me what the icon shown in the attached picture is? I just installed a new Audio30 into my 2002 210 wagon. While I was programming radio stations, all of a sudden, the sound turned to crap, and this icon showed up. OK on the newer Mercs to get into the boring Engineering mode you press Hangup + Diagonal Upper Left Arrow + Audio fron the serv lang screen that's great but how to we get into the secret Engineering mode (the one where ya can actually do stuff!)
"#" + "*" + "left arrow" doesn't work on the newer models anymore either.
I am trying to activate the backup camera.

I don't think you have made any big mistake, loosing VIM is not that bad if you ask me and in order to allow address entry in motion, you have to have the Comand version coded. This seems to get changed on some units at the update while not on all.
Are you sure the audio CD issue occurs with all burnt CDs, sounds odd if the same CDs were working previously.

Have you tried the SD card with this PCMCIA adapter on a laptop? Sounds

Just remember that this radio is 2-channel and anything newer that you buy
will be 4-channel, meaning your factory fader in the console will be

If you really mean an '05, see http://www.benzworld.org/forums/audi...st2376586.h tml . It is not particularly inexpensive, but it works great.
If you mean a '95, you probably have an aux input on the back of the radio into which you can connect a standard 3/8" stereo jack.
But since you have nav, I suspect you mean an '05.
