RedLine could be right. 560SL has a crank position sensor but I think a total failure would be manifested differently. I think you need to eliminate fuel delivery issues even though your mechanic allegedly replaced all components. Don't you hate it when they just throw parts at a problem, at YOUR expense. Next time you get a no-start condition, loosen the fuel delivery line at the fuel distributor. If fuel sprays, everything in your pump...

If you look at the attached .pdf file, you will see the complete headlight unit and part numbers. There doesn't appear to be a relay connected to the bulbs. If you have the part number then I would try elsewhere including the Bosch web-site. Most MB parts are sold individually so I think your supplier is trying to take advantage.

The most disturbing thing about your post is that the Mercedes dealer refused to give you the results of the Star Diagnostic scan. If you paid for this Star Diag service then go back to that dealer and demand the full printout of your DTC scan which will highlight all DTC fault codes. you can then post up the fault codes which will better enable us to advise. If it was just a freebie ...

If it's like my '93 R129 you will find that the third Brake light mounted on the boot/trunk-lid is the culprit. To check this as the source of the leak you can play a garden hose over the brake light. The answer is to disassemble the brake light and examine the seal, however usually just tightening the small fasteners will solve the problem.

redliner, remembered one of your previous posts, 'Matt, re. your brake issue, a spongy brake pedal usually indicates that there is air present in the system. This would need the brakes to be bled down. To bleed the brakes completely and replace the fluid (recommended if it hasn't been done for years) is quite a difficult DIY job as it needs a pressure bleeding system to purge all ...
