Wendy, I know a Cree woman who wears face paint while she dances during some pow wows. She's Beaver Clan - don't know if that makes a difference. I've seen her wear 1/2 of her face black and the other 1/2 of her face red. That seems very masculine to me; but it also (to me)represents the Warrior in her. She is a Warrior and a survivor. I've never asked her what her paint represents - I just didn't feel comfortable asking.

PHyllis, you may want to look into the booties the search dogs wear. I think those are waterproofed. You are very handy with a needle, maybe you could make some and waterproof them. Some leather scraps and a little mink oil could do the trick. Now that's a cute thought, making a set of moccasins for your little one! Please do not send the snow this way! If there is even a threat of flurries, school closes, the grocery stores are cleaned...
