Hi Joanna, Yes I do wish someone would come into this as an editor but in the meantime maybe
we can try to generate some positive politcal banter - perhaps something that can mend the fences between parties rather than cleave open the gap wider with each post. I encourage you and anyone else with any sort of positive news to write in and let us all know about it.

Civil Rights. LBJ did a great job
following through the Kennedy's vision. He made it happen against great odds. I see some parallels between LBJ and President Obama with regards to the challenges of their offices. War and big domestic issues. They are certainly very different in their personal styles, but I think they will be positively compared by history.

a 10 degree increase when driving from our tree-filled suburb to down town
Atlanta where all the trees had been removed. That was human action making
a
direct effect on temperature.

I am glad to hear that the UK leans more to the left - would love to say that about this country but the right has a stronger hold here which sadly, for the past ...

I was at the pharmacy yesterday, having this same discussion, then taking it one step further. If we hadn't taken on the unnecessary war and had finished the Afghan war when we had the chance, we wouldn't need to have the financial worries of improving our
health care delivery system. There would still be a long debate of 'how to do it', but we wouldn't have the 'how is it paid for' debate. ...
