If you don't let the snakes canoodle with the mammals, then there should be no risk of inter-species bites. As for the cruising snake, most ball pythons really won't leave their hides unless its feeding day. If your snakes is out of its hides during the day I would be a little concerned and look at your husbandry a bit more closely. What kind of hides does zeek have? How are you measuring and regulating the heat source? How much does...

If his belly is pink, he may be going into shed. My female BP won't eat at all when she goes into shed but eats like a pig she's not. Also what others said about breeding season. They can get picky, one week without food is nothing to worry about. Good luck!

I personally try to keep my snakes and my dogs apart. They don't really pay any attention to the snakes however I have caught Elizabeth "sizing" up Rain...who is wayyyyyyyyyy to big for her. However I was worried about Elizabeth trying to bite her ear and the dog going crazy with the snake still hanging on. Not a pretty picture in my mind. So with that being said...I keep them fairly apart. As far as what to do it they...

From my understanding pet stores are a place to dump offspring you dont want, meaning you probably have a small time breeder near you or someone who bought a snake and ended up regretting the decision and dumped it there. I'd talk to the people there and find out about it. You could probably find the breeder or figure out how they got it. And I'd totally suggest getting them if you have the cash, its always nice to add some pretty...

Plastic tubs or appropriately sized, insulated/cardboard boxes with head pads would be my best guess! Reptile basics has some great 40 hours head pads: http://www.reptilebasics.com/40-hr-d...heat_pack.h tml with insanely fast shipping if you order in time!

The rodents might be bad, or you didn't thaw them properly. Size is not the only reason why a snake would regurg. Generally, you should not offer food for 2 weeks after a regurg to let the digestive system recover. Since you were feeding the same rodents and kept getting bad results, it leads me to believe that there is something wrong with them. I really don't know though. That is my best...

Do you want a morph or just a normal ball python? I would try contacting some local breeders around you and see if you can go and pick one up yourself. If you want a normal, males are very inexpensive. Most breeders sell them under $40.

Do you have a screen lid for the tank? If you can afford it buy some plexi glass and caulk it to the top. Otherwise if you cant afford plexi glass then wrap the lid of the tank with aluminum foil and put a damp towel on the top. Make sure to leave about a quarter of the tank open so air will get in. If you keep your towel damp then you should see an increase of humidity

I think the black specks come with age, and it's probly random. NERD has a female listed for $20,000. So I'm guessing they're in that range.

I've never seen one of those, unless it was posted on here. I'd assume the price tag would be several thousands of dollars. If you'd want to track one down, I'd suggest calling NERD, BHB, or Ralph Davis. One of them would know where to direct you. Or, better yet, the name "Colin Weaver" is on that picture, which is a member on this website. He posts here frequently, search his name and ask him...

It's not a bad price if it's a female since you're at a pet store. If you go to a reptile expo you'll can save a few bucks, especially if it's a male. Go to White Plains this weekend...you're not that far.

No, not generally. I do have a few eaters that will eat pretty much no matter what but shed is stressful enough I think, without the added demands of digesting a meal.
