I heard someone who introduced a male to a female's tub, and she grabbed and wrapped him, mistaking him for food coming. <lol> I'm always cautious about introductions. ^_^ I've never had any female do more than shove the male around and shrug him off. Males will combat, but it's a wrestling match to see who's stronger.

I have had to do that same thing for animals in the past and I was always told the freezer works best. That's what I have done and to me I feel it works best. Best of luck.
