Science cannot progress without knowing what went before. Every new discovery requires awareness of the old ones, if for no other reason than it's better to know what's already been shown to be wrong. Isn't learning what people have studied on the subject of oxidization better than going back to phlogiston as an explanation? Research is an inherent property of the scientific method.

I think they are going to have to do a lot better then intuition to convince anyone at this point. There is only a small amount of people that are still on the fence that everyone is trying to convince. We do it here scientifically. Others do it with bogus claims and nonsense.
