Give a lot of the credit to T-point and Pro-track as well as the mount. Couldn't do it without that huge map. I should mention that by the time the blue frames were taken the object was so low it was out of the mapping area. I did have to align the two blue images to each other and to the rest of the images. But the lum., red and green all stacked without alignment. Really nice when clouds roll in. I don't have to worry about losing...

That's just so lovely Kyle. Thanks for sharing your comp. The other day, on a rare clear-sky occasion, I glimpsed Mars through my binoculars. Gorgeous red, it made me think for a sec that it was a street lamp : being colour blind to a degree, doesn't help.

Made Nov. 8. Set up the Hap Griffin modified Canon 40D with 13nm Astronomik clip-in Ha filter and 200mm f/2.8L lens, side by side with the 80mm Stellarvue Nighthawk II guidescope with Orion SSAG and PHD on the CGE mount in my side yard. This is twelve 270 second subs at 3200 iso, twelve darks and twelve flats stacked in DSS and processed in PhotoShop CS3:...

Joshben,
That's a nice image. The nebula is very subtle.

The Rosette shows a strong 3D illusion, especially the hole region. It's rare for me to see such an illusion. These will be great when the weather allows more time.
I doubt the Paramount even notices the out of balance. I once screwed up and mounted the 14" one set of mounting holes too far south. That put it out of balance by a good 30 pounds. I didn't notice until a few weeks later ...

Bah. Nevermind. Those photos were taken without seeing the blue-green dot. Tonight I went out and took more photos of Jupiter... and saw the dot *again.* But this time, knowing to look for it and being willing to do some ultra- basic science, I simply moved the camera left and right... and the dot move in the opposite direction. It must be some sort of internal reflection of Jupiter inside the ...
