Quote (Osco Sean @ Aug. 17 2009,3:39) Am I remembering incorrectly, or attributing scenes in a later movie to the original? Because I thought that there was a succession of shots showing while telling. One of my favorite film moments is the campfire story at the beginning of The Fog . It's exposition, but in a context that works, and Houseman's delivery was pitch-perfect....

Quote (Bergerjacques @ Aug. 17 2009,8:25) Lose a week of posts?! What will we do ... oh yeah ... we'll just start another movie grab bag, mini-review, comic book thread, random thread, etc, etc. I'm not really worried about that but thought I'd back the board up NOW as fire insurance. -------------- Blue Glow - things, stuff, and junk | Baby blog "Patriotism ...

Quote (El Santo @ Aug. 21 2009,12:53) Quote (Osco Sean @ Aug. 21 2009,12:10) Maybe they'll add some exposition to the effect that he'll look more like a wolf every month, so that if he survives long enough he'll resemble the wolf that bit him. No, I'm serious. I think that'd be neat. After all, it was neat when Wolf did it on a much shorter timeframe......

District 9 --I expected a lot from this film and it didn't really live up to those expectations. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. The effects were amazing, but the story was weak. Aside from the aforementioned stereotypes of the EE-vil Corporation and the sadistic mercenary, I got really sick of all the "last-minute change of heart" moments. My biggest problem? Aside from the alien...

Uh...not seeing Don "The Dragon" Wilson movies is a blessing. But you must see Black Belt Jones YESTERDAY! Hmm, gaps, I know I got gaps. -------------- "Professor of Evil! and Libraries! and EVIL LIBRARIES!"- Telstar "You know somewhere a Hollywood exec is going, "I've got a great idea for a remake, we'll take Night of the Living Dead only instead of the the living dead ...

Quote (Brother Ragnarok @ Aug. 10 2009,1:52) Quote (The Mud Puppy @ Aug. 10 2009,12:43) Still better than Superman Returns , though. So is having your nuts trampled by an angry elephant. I'd quibble. An angry elephant's going to me much more painful than your run of the mill elephant. -------------- Forgotten Exploitation Films from the Archives -...

Quote (Trogga @ June 25 2009,5:39) Richard Kelly's new movie The Box doesn't look like a trainwreck Eh, I prefer trainwreck Kelly to mediocre pablum Kelly. Now, if you were telling me, "Richard Kelly to remake Chatterbox ", I might be more interested. -------------- "CITIZEN SNIIIIIPS!" - Theodore Roosevelt's Head "When the Hulkster comes to Heaven, we'll tag ...

Quote (Cliffie @ June 24 2009,12:42) OK, if the universal translator is universal and ubiquitous so you can do lunch with an Andorean or Klingon without qualm, why did they have to build a special one for the thinking cloud that rejuvenated Zephram Cochran? And why did Spock have to do a mind-meld to converse with the Horta? How frikkin' universal is that? What Mike ...
