The man from your dealer.. he talk sh*t You can unplug them as often as you like, because you have to do it to change the other bulbs. The settings are instigated via VAG-COM and unless they are saying a motor is stuck of something there is no need to strip down the light to do basic settings. FWIW don't do HID main beams, just get some +50% or better H1 bulbs

Angel remap
Published (2009-11-07 22:47:00)
They are the business at Angel, out of interest, did they refer to it as a stage 1 remap? the reason I ask is I have just fitted an Evoms CAI and spoke to Nigel at Angel regarding upgrading etc, and he said their maps are not 'staged' they release the maximum potential of the engine with the initial map. Any additions and the ECU will adapt! You gotta believe the guy, he basically has turned away money, when he could of easily said...

The other sort is "Private Hire" or mini-cabs - these are the cars that I guess Skippy's is - these can't wait in taxi bays, can't display a TAXI sign & you can't flag them down/hail them. They have to be booked in advance & certainly round here cost a damn sight less than hackney carriage type taxis. I will have you know I am hackney, not a take your life in there hands private hire or...

I had Angel do their worst on my old Punto HGT which was 100hp standard and 150 remapped. I drove it like I stole every day for 40K and four years and it nevr missed a beat. I would imagine a 30bhp increase on a Skud would be ok...........

I once put mine through the carwash, it wasn't until a month later i got a puncture and found the spare sat in the pool of water about 3inch deep. Never put it through a car wash again, i think its the rear seals tbh.

Octavia Long delivery times Ordered a 1.9tdi elegance estate with sunset glass 2 weeks ago. Phoned dealer for update on delivery date. He has been quoted February!! He has been at VAG who have brought the date back a bit, but his story is software problem at factory, and problems with the new bolero radio units. Sounded a bit sus, anyone got any inside info.

Have you had it scanned for fault codes? Is that what you meant by "no faults in the em system"?

Octavia DSG ESP Options Do you get ESP when you buy a DSG?
It says in the brochure that the 1.4 TSI DSG comes with ESP so it makes sense for all the 1.4/1.8 TSI DSG models to have it as well!
I was going to add ESP anyway but for another £600 could get DSG as well.
Is it correct that if you buy a 4 or 3 spoke steering wheel with the audio controls it includes the maxidot ...

Update your profile with some location info and you might find that someone local will offer to sort this out for you! These sorts of things tend to be easier to sort/amend on VCDS than VAS anyway.

I'm living in Germany at the moment and we have a set of winter and summer wheels. most people drive around with steel wheels with winter tyres during the winter.
Its well worth it, at the moment i'm driving a BMW ( vrs on order) so it is well worth it for me lots more grip in poor weather. i was getting stuck in car parks or sliding around the road before them (during the snow). Winter tyres ...

You could check if it has been built and if not add the options before you get it as it will be much cheaper to do this.

Having seen something simillar happen to someone at work, I dont use Air fresheners of any sort in the car. The liquid ones are especially prone to leaking, and the chemicals can cause a lot of damage.

Send your questions in written form to the dealer. Explain that good communication is important to you and you feel so far this has not been the case.
You don't have to like the person you are dealing with (it does help though) but both of you should be civil at all times. Raised voices are NOT a good thing.
In your letter to the dealer give them a reasonable time to respond to your questions....
