rightclick the job -> properties and change the default for the monitor sample rate. Usually it is set to 1000, you can increase that to 64000 with no real disadvantage. And when executing/scheduling a job use the higher monitor sample rate.

As an aside... The best authoritative-source place to get platform information, is the SAP support web site. On the support site: BusinessObjects Support -> Documentation -> Supported Platforms/PARs (This link may also work: https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000726096&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202 )

We do have separate hardware for BOE and DS. Just wanted to know if tehre are any other suggestions before I start installation on Windows 2008 64 bit. also can some one explain me what does this mean "The application is supported running on 64 -bit versions of Windows running on x64 CPUs made by AMD and Intel if it can reference the 32-bit operating system libraries as well as the 32-bit database and application client libraries."

I am having same issue that you are having with Monitor log. I can able to see the trace and error log fine, but getting the "Read time out" error with Monitor log. I am thinking that file size on the server side. Any suggestions for me. Thank you,

It is called RapidMart and actually it is nothing else than us building the ETL flows, the datamodels, sample universe, delta logic,.... and ship it as is to you as a quick-start. Yes they do. Because both are 32-bit, when installing - ensure that it is not installed into the default "Program Files (x86)" directory, where Windows Server 2008 will install all non-64 bit software by default. We have experienced some issues with BOE when installing it in the "(x86)" directory. Not so much with Data Services 3.2 yet but to prevent any problem, it is one of our best ...

Connection refused? Wrong system number, hostname etc. Compare the the settings used in the SAPGUI and the datastore settings and let us know the differences. There are other reasons as well just less likely by far.
