Use Dsum in your Excel book to aggregate the data, then choose a component (like a chart ) to model the result of the formula Dont model the data directly. That is the point of having Excel available in an Xcelsius model.

Have your open doc webi document open in a new page. When done with the page simply close out the webi document page and should be able to simply revert back to the dashboard.

Interesting problem, I could not see a way around it using a filter. It even sorts character fields alphabetically. If you use a combo box it doesn't have the problem. If you use to of these you will get the same result as using a filter. Brendan

I am not able to login to QAAWS. I get the following error: "Impossible to log 'Administrator' on "http://<bo-server:8080/dswsbobje/services/session. Get Version exception (Error WSE 99999) . mm maybe the cell is not changing at the begginin so try and old school tecnique put a table and reference it to the trigger cells and see what's happend in a preview because maybe the components you are using doesn't insert their value

I'm pulling some data into xCelsius 2008 using QaaWS. the data is coming back sorted, in the correct order that I would like to display it in a drop down/filter. The data that is coming back is very simple - it's a year and a month number, sorted in reverse chronological order, so that the data reads like:
Col 1 Col 2
2009 11
2009 10
2009 09
2009 08
...
...

Is this working fine for you still. I am still facin the same problem. I am able to open a blank xcelsius file. When i try to open any samples or existing dashboards or import an excel file in a blank xcelsius file i get an error "Problem accessing excel: Exiting".
Tried Un-installing Office, Xcelsius and then re-installing it. Also made sure that i give FULL ACCESS to everyone on "C:\...

Answer is NO. There is no option to do aggregations @ xcelsius level. You need to do this using WebI or Crystal Reports or other similar intermediate tools.

Hi,
I have to call 4 different swfs in my dashboard. I am using 4 slideshow components. They were fine till recently but now as I add them Xcelsius crashes. It always seems to crash on the 4th one. These 4 swf files are around 700KBs each. The source to those swf files are around 330KBs each.
Is this a memory leak or something? Any suggetions?

Well, aparently there is no solution by now. I can accurate a little the problem.
I've detected in my dashboard behaviour that combo that is filled by a WS initially change a cell value (the first value of combo selector), and then it triggers another WS execution.
At the beginning, in dashboard loading, WS does not detect cells change but it does when I press and execute WS manually after...

I think you want to look at the Tab Set component. It is easiest to learn quickly, and is a fast way to categorize components.
Or try the dynamic visibility topic in Xcelsius help.

Since v2008 has more features, maybe its better to re-create the file. But there are dozens of how to steps on converting from 4.5 to 2008...on this forum and elsewhere...

Not sure why it doesn't work for you. I've just created a sample with an URL button and it opens up in a new explorer window.
My URL I used was:
http://<my system>/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDoc ID=<DOCID>&sType=wid&sRefresh=Y
What browser do you use? I got IE 6 and it worked as expected....

Please be more clear with your questions;
"Is there a posibility to to share a Dashboard to different users"---yes
Also, you can embed your dashboard in a web browser like any other file/objects. Ask your site admin.
"And what do we have to do if we would like to have this Dashboard updated within a PowerPoint"
--If the dashboard is on your system where the XML live feed connection ...
