I'm just entering the world of BMW maintenance so I'm not too familiar with the tools required. My son is starting a CNC machining course in January and I'd like to give him some projects. What, if any, special tools I'm most likely to use, can be made rather than bought? I know of the swingarm socket, but no others.

Okay, it is early, but I will need to start planning (read - saving) now. Which one to go to next year? There are pros and cons to both. BMWMOA I could run Deals Gap, CCR I could go through the black hills. I could also leave a couple days earlier and try to do a 50CC. Time isn't as much of an issue as finances, so I can't do both. Anyone that has been to both care to give their ...

I bought a 1200GT last week on ebay that was located in MO. Since my daughter lives in STL, I figured I'd fly out and visit her and pick up the bike on the weekend. Well, that plan went south, and I ended up on a quick trip to STL early in the week, figuring Dean could come out on the weekend and make the bike deal. The seller then said he couldn't do the weekend and wanted to finalize the ...

Single sided front suspension? BMW K1300S spied with single-sided front suspension Spanish motorcycle magazine Solo Moto just snapped this shot of the 2010 BMW K1300S. Not much is currently known about it other than its rumored capacity and the lack of a fork on the right side of its front wheel. Could this be the wacky German foil to the more conventional BMW S1000RR World ...

Does anyone have the Handy Power Lift 1/2 Ton? It's $595, US made. I'm about to pull the trigger and wondering how it holds up since it is so much cheaper than their other models.

Turns out I had an enjoyable ride without freezing, something I wouldn't have considered possible on a motorcycle, until now. The looks I was getting ...
