I think you can expect to see smaller engines, bigger turbos, and high-tech features (electric assist motors, etc.) starting to become the "norm" in the high end sports car segment.

Older models of a Honda Accord/Civic, or a Toyote Camry/Corrola. An M3 would be evereything but a beater to me lol.

The first link I posted is a supercharged S with 55K miles and great options. They ask for 10.9 meaning you could offer 9.5 drive out. I bet they would take it! Corolla over a Mini? NO.

I'm surprised you told them over the phone to button the car back up. Sounds like you...

Getting a car from out of state is a bit more work - CT inspection, shipping, etc. I want to get it from a dealer in CT so they can take care of everything for me.

I've talked to some BMW mechanics, and they say the engine bay is a BEAR to deal with because it's so small. Unless you fall into the small category and have a lot of patience, it's probably not something you're going to want to deal with.

You can get an E86M for ~$30k's. That's a bargain of the Century. The other choice I'd go for would be the last generation Nissan Z. Inexpensive AND reliable.

Electric cars aren't the future if you are looking for driving enjoyment but they are necessary to help achieve the 2015 emissions regulations all manufacturers have to meet, without these you will see the end of the performance car. Though I can't see an sane person wanting to own one of these.

At one point I was a fan of the M6, until I test drove one. Meh overrated, there's better cars for $100K+. Though I love the rear and that MV10.
