What is too high for the oil temp?
Published (2009-12-24 23:36:00)
dont worry about it the oil temperature fluctuates in this car, it will sit lower if you are driving in steady conditions like smooth freeway cruising as compared to hectic city driving and stop and go i say once you see the gauge really go past the mid line 4 clicks you have a problem, but you should never really see it go above the mid line

Poor rain gutter design
Published (2009-12-23 03:40:00)
This probably only affects smokers and those who like to open their window to get that fresh breeze feeling. The windshield slope directs water right up to the rain gutter where the gutter doesn't channel the water very well as I get it running and dripping onto my leg or onto the window controls on the door arm rest. This happens even when I spray washer fluid on the windshield and the wipers move the water to the side where the...

Published (2009-12-24 23:25:00)
Mine hovers in the 225-240 range when fully warmed up. I've heard later software versions bring down those temps. Not sure what relation that would have with a HPFP failure. Anyway, I wouldn't start to worry about it unless it spikes very quickly to a very high temperature, which may signify a significant problem. I blew a coolant hose on one of my previous cars, and you could literally see the gauge move from the first 1/3 all the...

go with the miata or get a pos 944 and put a big engine, good suspension, and brakes in it. Either would be a hell of a car and you really want to keep in mind the total loss situation when you buy.

This isn't really the site for E36 info, but I'm sure there are a couple people educated about them. E36 325is are nice (my friend had one) although it says that one was in an accident. There's a million things to check out on a 15 year old car. Take it to an independent Bimmer shop and have it inspected. Oh, and make sure there are TONS of service records. And "dealer maintained" means sh*t btw.

You always run the risk of fowling your O2 sensors if your running leaded race gas even if you don't have cats. Its your choice, however the cost of new O2 sensors is not cheap.

Very sorry to hear that. This is exactly why I don't feel like I can trust my 1er on any road trips. It's a damn shame BMW can't get the problem fixed. If I wanted a $40,000 car that I couldn't take out of town I'd have found a V8 Esprit.

although many have complained of squeaks and rattles with coupes as well, I have 35K miles on mine with none...and it has the added roughness of my springs, sway bars, and fully catless exhaust. I love mine just as much if not more than when I got it!

As reported on 1addicts Homepage These days, it seems that prices of cars and related parts/accessories only moves in one direction -- UP. That is why the latest announced pricing for 1-series BMW Performance parts comes as a pleasant surprise. Pricing has been reduced for the entire range of BMW 1 series performance parts Pricelist courtesy of Bimmerfile
