Here is some update guys: Today I spent good 5-6 hours installing it on my car ... Since I was doing it first time, I didn't want to rush and was taking my time ... I installed today rear camera and installed the multimedia unit inside the dashboard ... It took me good 1.5-2h just to figure out how to take the glove compartment off the car ... Now if you need to do that, for a small fee of $20 I will tell you the secret Just kidding ......

Just tested out this week the Seagate FreeAgent go 500gb usb hard drive. it is a 5500rpm hard drive (according to one supplier, but not listed on any seagate sites). It works pretty well all considering, i had to format it to FAT32 and on vista 64 bit it will only allow exFAT which is not compatable. I downloaded the Seagate Disk manager utility, and it allowed me to format it into FAT32 configuration with around 465gb of usable space. It...

Bluetooth Connecting

Bluetooth should connect within seconds. Depending on your phone, your contacts may take a little while to transfer. Phonebook transfer will attempt using the PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile) first, then if your phone does not support that, it will use AT Commands (a lot slower). Currently no generation iPhone or Android-based smart phone uses the PBAP profile. I know the Palm Pre and Pixi do and most Windows Mobile 6.1 or newer based smart...

Did you just add a sub to the existing stock system? If so, how does it all come together with the stock mids/highs? Does everything compliment eachother?

Although all the OEM HU/iDrive computers have the capability of different languages selection, unfortunately it seems that this selection is tied to physical region settings.
For example, to display Korean the unit should be set to Korea/OCE and everything else in the unit will be set if the car is in actual Korea. So radio frequencies, Assist settings -if equipped- and other ...

Yes, a few other have reported the same thing. My display stays on but I
can't switch sources and there is no sound. If I restart the car and open
and close the door it restarts. Happens about once a month so I'll wait
till my next service.

dynamat options
Getting ready to install some new components up front. Was wondering if anyone is using dynamat to the to doors and if you are using a complete door kit or just the speaker kit.
Installing Diamond audio hex components with a PPI amp (80 watts/channel)
thanks.

Honestly, save your money and your time. I got the dealer to throw the adapter and the smart phone prep for free when I bought the car. So glad I did not pay for it.
Still get the "accessory not designed to work with iphone" message when I plug the phone in, reception is no better, and the audio quality is not as good as with the regular usb adapter, so basically all it does is charge ...

I notice this all the time when listing to HD radio stations. I haven't
timed it, but it seems to update on its own schedule, rather than when the
songs change.
