Coolant change 118d.

Having looked around on TIS I cannot find details on how to do this. Ideally, would prefer to know the method straight off rather than looking around the car for drain plugs etc. Has anyone done this on their 1er? (or can they direct me on TIS) I imagine it will be easy enough to drain from a radiator plug or similar but what about vent plugs for refill, where are they? Thanks in anticipation. EDIT, Further looking on TIS suggests it may be...

how to remove centre storage bin ?
Published (2009-12-14 10:46:00)
I want to install a Tomtom 730 Navigation-unit into the center storage bin. The powerlead and the TMC-device should not be visible. I want to get them both in the glove-compartment. Therefore, I need to remove the CSB, I suppose. Can anyone give me some advice ?

Hi, I'm looking at doing this on my pre face lift 118d M-Sport. But this might be a stupid question but are there 2 different types of face lift lights?? (None LED and LED) What should I be buying?? Hope this makes sense. Cheers Olly

There are. The LED ones will be an awful lot of work to install though.

LEDs are installed on cars with front Xenons. Non-LEDs are installed on cars with standard front halogens. Time for a cheeky plug... http://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=15575

Keys have to come from BMW. Something to do with limited production of the transponder, only so many are coded to your car.

Anybody knows alternative way of getting additional keys for 1 series? alternative = other than paying fee to BMW dealers... dealextreme.com doesn't have such keys... Thank you!

What car? For most of the 1 series range you simply need to buy some high temperature paint and follow the instructions. Make sure the calipers are clean, dry, free of dirt and rust, etc.

You do realise that you can pop the instrument cluster binnacle off and route it from between it and the dash?? Or you could add this tray to get it looking neat.... You would need to use the template for the storage tray retrofit to cut your dash, but dead easy to do, I did it for a GPStar nav install.

Thanks mate - straight forward enough. My only concerns would be how much the centre console needs to be lifted - I'm hoping not that much and that I can ignore any effect it has on the handbrake etc. Also finding a wee spanner small enough to turn those nuts as the space looks pretty small. Cheers again.
