I have checked and the rear is also damp, i removed the side trim from under the door, near the seat and the front carpet/foam underneath is wet to touch there is also condensation under there near all the wires. The car is wetter in the front next to the accelerator pedal. I checked the boot which is dry and the near side seems dry too. If the carpet got wet somehow a week ago would it take long to dry out in this weather? What can I do to...

Mine has always been turned on since my car was delivered but for some reason it was off in the morning yesterday but I put it back on for my return journey. Will keep an eye on it to see if it goes off again. I've never bothered to turn it off in previous cars as I've never found any difference with consumption either!

I think some condensation is inevitable but I take its quite bad then, do you run your aircon much? if you run your air con regularly it helps to dry out the car and stop the damp building up and also its good for the aircon system

deffo not pushing the button. noticed that it also does it if the car has been locked for say 20 mins then i open it the boot pops open. i think i have found the problem. the badge on the boot has stopped working so wont open the boot. i can still open the boot from the button on the key tho. im guessing it may be a feature if the badge fails then you get the boot opened for you just incase. may be wrong tho but im pretty sure it has something...

If you can get off drive in exactly the same condition with other cars, then the only thing in contact with the drive is your tyres.

If the fan is running and there is fluid there and no warning lights at present then I would say it would be ok to drive the 9 miles, but as it is less than 3 years old I would say that BMW should be covering this totally under warranty and as such take their advice on whether to drive it there or not, as if you did drive it and the engine overheated and caused damage they could use that against ...

I got the car with 9k on the clock so nicely ran in, and since then, just under 2 years and a mere 111,000miles I have not added any oil between services, the lowest its been on going for its next service was half way down the dip stick.

I had same problem... I used a vacuum with shampoo function to evenly clean the area and when it dried they didn't have water marks. I think it's only when they get wet in a small area and dry unevenly.

How do you mean steering rattle exactly? Is it a wobble through the wheel or an actual rattly noise? If it's a wobble I'd get the wheel balancing checked. It's not really the same as you describe circumstance wise, but earlier in the year I noticed a clonk through the steering that was noticeable mostly at low speed on lumpy surfaces, like driving over grass car parks. Turned out to be a loose ...

Yep, I have the same issue. I thought I had heated washers and wondered if they were linked to another control (i.e. switch on at same time as heated rear windscreen) but manual just says they will come on automatically when the weather conditions are cold enough. I'll have to mention it at next visit to dealer. Had a few occasions over past few days when I've been trying to clear salt spray ...

Help! Checked all the relevant fuses with a circuit tester, and they are all fine. If anyone has any ideas where to start checking next, would appreciate it No idea how to check whether its the blower/fan motor, or something else electronic.
