(singing) Yummy, yummy, yummy I pulled gut from a tummy . . ." Oh, excuse me. You know, like everyone else, i found this movie weak compared to Cannibal Holocaust. But over the years its grown on me and I think it ranks second on my list of favorite cannibal films. Poor John Morgan. I loved his comment on the commentary when Lenzi tried to get him to stab of goat for real onscreen by ...

I haven't seen a thread for this yet, which is weird considering it's directed by Alexandre Aja. Frankly, I'm pretty sure someone had to have started a thread on this film.....but anyway barring no duplicate thread, may this be the official "Mirrors" thread. SYNOPSIS: A man is head of security at a department store plagued by unexplained deaths. The store is also the target of ...

Found this on 24framespersecond . Looks great! Quote: We first covered news on this movie in December of last year, then all seemed to go quiet on the project. Now the first new poster has surfaced for director by Igor Shawlak upcoming horror ‘Trackman.’ The movie stars Dmitry Orlov, Svetlana Metkina, Alexander Vsokowski, Julia Wall, Alexei Dmitriev & Oleg ...

Hey guys, posted about this on my blog here , you can see a teaser trailer there. It's looking very cool indeed. Not much info, apart from the release date, which is April 10th in Korean cinemas (No idea when the rest of the world gets to see it), but I did find some cool pics! Take a look:

For people in the UK, it looks as though BBC4 may be showing all of these movies, starting with Spectre (Regreso a Moira) tomorrow night (Tuesday, 10:30pm), followed by The Christmas Tale (Cuento de Navidad) the following Tuesday.

I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this Joe D'Amato film. I wrote a little review on my live journal, so I thought I would share it here as well. Buio Omega is a dark and twisted tale of bereavement gone over the edge. Frank Wyler had everything a women would desire; good looks, sensitivity and money. Unfortunately he has a few screws loose in his head. His ...

A New Orleans housewife leaves her daughter and son home alone to meet her lover. While with him, she receives a call that her son has died. Wreckless driving rushing to her house results in a horrible accident. The lover dies and she is sent to a mental institution to recover from the psychological trauma. Upon her release a year later she moves into the boarding house where they would...

All purpose Giallo thread... To kick things off, I'm watching the commentary on the VCI DVD of "Blood and Black Lace" which is fascinating (if not a little too detailed at times). The film is one of my favorites. Bava is a master of cinematography and lighting, creating a really intense, borderline surreal mood. Anyway... go! What are some of your favorites? Why? Which do you ...

I finally watched Profondo Rosso last night and I was pleasently surprised. This is defnitely the best movie i've seen from Argento, yet (I also got Tenebre, Suspiria and Phenomena). Solid acting, great story and it kept me guessing. I have the Blue Underground edition and I watched it with the english soundtrack. It was a little annoying that there were several scenes in the movie where the...

Really good story, but I really expected a more cohesive scene by scene movie. It seemed to jump around too much, a bit too much imagery, and with so many cut scenes it broke the flow which detracted from the film.

The wife and mistress of a sadistic boarding school headmaster plot to kill him. They drown him in the bathtub and dump the body in the school's filthy swimming pool... but when the pool is drained, the body has disappeared - and subsequent reported sightings of the headmaster slowly drive his 'killers' (and the audience) up the wall with almost unbearable suspense... This is one ...

Lamberto Bavo's debut. I bought it last week and enjoyed every minute of it. The atmosphere is very much alike his father's movies (In which he also had alot to say, but never the whole deal). I'm not to font of the ending, but it isn't that bad. Some plotholes here and there but in overall a good movie. Plot: A middle-aged woman, traumatized from the death of her adulterous lover...
