Can I get reviews on Kamui tips...
Published (2009-11-30 16:24:00)
Can anyone tell me if a kamui black hard can hold up good to regular play including breaking? Cuz I'm getting my 1st cue hpefully soon and I'm debating whether or not to pay the extra 20 bucks for the kamui or not. The standard tip is an everest. I'm not 100% sure I'll break with it too, but I will if It works better than a house cue. Thanks.

It is a very well built case - on the order of a Whitten in weight. I have one in as new condition if you're interested.

Some day I would love to own one of his cues. I know it would be much easier to just buy one second hand, but I would like him to make one for me. I think his work is absolutely beautiful.

Predator Instroke case

I have one and the only down side I can think of, is that it's rather heavy. Otherwise, it's a well built case

I have an old school pre-logo pechauer player cue, hits pretty solid. Mine is a 5/16x14 flat faced steel joint. Slightly lighter hit than my TAD. My friend has a newer fancier pechauer with the logo on the butt cap and his hits pretty nice, a little softer than my pechauer. Good hitting cue, his is a 5/16x14 steel piloted joint. Pretty decent respectable workmanship, IMHO.

I tried a Kamui Black SS and it was crap. WAY too soft in my opinion.
Then, after a few friends raved about the Kamui Black Medium, I *reluctantly* gave one a try.
I can say without a doubt, that the Kamui Black Medium is THE BEST tip I have ever used, and is FAR out in front of whatever tip ( Moori, Sniper, etc.) that is in second place.

The biggest gotcha is if you can get used to a shorter cue. I believe they are about 4" shorter then standard length cues. Email Tony (BENFICA) on here who reps them to hear more.

Sounds like you've put a lot of thought into it and are well ahead of the game than many at your age! Wish I knew everything you did what I was 15. $270 is a pretty good price for a cue, but honestly I would spend less for a 1st cue. You're going to learn about cue maintenance on your first cue and I wouldn't recommend anything expensive enough to worry about. Also, if you take care of ...

Come out of your shell and tell us you really think of Dennis Searing Mark.
Wishing more good Karma to you.
For what you do for this country you deserve all that's good and great pool cues seem to have a certain mystique that makes me happy too.
Happy holidays to you and your family, and it's good to have you back in the swing.

There is a nice Steve Klein in the for sale section in your price range. Basically look in the for sale section. There are always nice cues for sale.
