I posted this not long ago on another thread penrose drain, a clear surgical drain 1 1/4" size go to a medical supply store and grab some they usually come in two foot lengths and are a couple of bucks. nice Tack feel (but not overdone) and they roll on and off super easy. 1 tube can be cut in half so you got two. They are the NUTS hope that helps, Grey GHost

cue collecting

If you take a long time cuemaker like Bill Stroud for instance. His older cue of the same complexity would be considered worth more to most collectors. The same goes for Richard Black, Bill Schick and so forth. Their current cues may be fancier and worth more, but normally the older the cue is the more it is worth for the fanciness of the cue, provided we are talking 20 plus years and not 2 or 3 years.

one of two things
1)the first elephant ear was too thick, and the second too thin
2)the first was too thick so the cue maker reduced the diameter of the handle to get the new wrap to fit...and took off too much
hopefully its just the first one, but if its the second one that kind of sucks...but could be fixed with a layer of epoxy built up and then turned back round to the ...

There are different materials. In your post, it isn't clear as to what you're talking about. When you say white material, that isn't accurate enough. A picture would always be best when describing something.
There is delrin which is not supposed to stick to anything. It is very white. There is also phenolic and ivory as well as ivory recon. Antler is also used.

My mistake, I had to put my magnifiers on and I also used a steel rule against it.

Belt driven lathes are more quiet and have less vibration.
Gear driven ones have more torque.
It's easier to change speeds on gear driven lathes compared to triple-pulley belt lathes.

I would never do any of mine like that, but hey it's not my cue ! As long as you have a flush cut at where or how much ferrule you want it may be ok, but then you have to think if you had a capped ferrule before or not cause once you do this you don't anymore !!! LOL.. Then you have to face off the ferrule meaning sanding it flush so you can put the tip on that you want. And sand the bottom ...
