Quoting FlyDeltaJets87 ( Reply 154 ): He used to fly int'l routes when he had more seniority. But with the cuts in pilots and routes, his spot on the seniority list doesn't allow him to get the int'l routes anymore like he used to. And, again, what international routes did he used to fly that he can no longer fly?

Ryanair Sets Deadline For Boeing
Published (2009-11-21 15:41:00)
Quoting JRadier ( Reply 62 ): Well, Boeing isn't exactly offering that 50% again, and FR 's orders and options will try up eventually... Boeing might very well be offering 50% off current list. It's just that 50% off current list is $39 million a flyable frame vs. the $29 million he paid in 2001. So if FR wants to drop another $4 billion on an order, instead of that amount covering 145 planes, they're looking at only 109....

Quoting Airbuseric ( Reply 6 ): Quoting Kaitak (Reply 5): Do they have any runways which are Cat III? TK has a fairly modern fleet, so I'd have thought most, if not all, of its fleet is Cat III compliant? Not only equipment is neccesary, also flightcrew should be CAT III to be able to do such landings. I don't know details about IST or TK crews though. Sorry i'm new and it may be a silly question.. If the aircraft is equipped...

Quoting LipeGIG ( Reply 10 ): Lets wait and see Mark. The deal with DL was made before they begin advertise or got approval for the CLT - GIG . But the application was submitted afterward. Though I'm not even sure that the DL /US deal is going to get approved in the first place, which will save US and GIG , at least for now.

Quoting Mauiman31 ( Reply 1 ): Others will follow. . . $$$ As a pax. . . doesn't bother me a bit. Nor I. I would rather see a tasteful add than watch the layoffs continue. Quoting Atlwest1 ( Reply 5 ): Also I think they should look into doing what Western Pacific did with the LOGO jets. Great way to advertise. I'm all for LOGO jets, but it doesn't seem to work for all products. Too many products that it does work for are......

Quoting Lightsaber ( Reply 70 ): Did you find a direct quote? I'm using the link in post #66, from the Independent (Irish) newspaper. It is direct, in quotation marks, preceded by "afterwards he said." I suspect he said it thinking it might be off the record ("afterwards"), but given the other inflammatory statements in the interview ("kicked the sh*t out of Airbus"), I'm guessing he was in a very jolly...

TSA Rules Immaterial In The UK.

Quoting RussianJet ( Reply 184 ): if a crew member takes things with them that they cannot take back, then surely that is their own fault. UK rules in spite of their silliness are no secret. I wholly agree with you there....if a passenger cannot take hundreds of dollars worth of duty free, why should crew be able to? I just don't understand this want of special dispensation.

Quoting LipeGIG ( Thread starter ): - Does AA will venture into BSB ? Does AA will apply for JFK - GIG again ? Interesting questions. DL is most aggressive in trying new routes so I think ATL - BSB is a go. AA may follow them on BSB , given they have some frequencies they can shift too. I don't see AA going for JFK - GIG . Which... Thanks for providing the link to this article on UA 's new focus on the people who pay their salaries 777fan. I will say it's a start. One thing they mention is UA is competitive in the markets it serves. They do offer a very niche, high end product on their p.s. flights, better than anyone else, but they have forgotten the main cabin. They are not competitive in almost all markets when it ...

The question is: what would be the alternative? Airbus? Would they give him better rates? Is he willing to throw away the advantage of a pure 737-fleet?

Recently LH changed the equipment used on FRA - BAH - FRA route from an A330 to B737 operated by Private Air. They do offer Y class on these flights as well. Just might be the same for the flights to PNQ

Quoting WestWing ( Thread starter ): if I can add properly, there were 3132 737 classics (-100 to -500 incl.T43A) built.
Normally, 737-Classic refers to the 737-300/400/500 series, in which case the 737NG already passed them up. I've heard the 737-100/200 described as "737-Jurassic" before, but that's not as commonly used.

Ferry permits allow the aircraft to be fitted with extra fuel tanks and make the flight from the west coast to Hawaii. ETOPS certification is not needed for these type flights.
There is a company on the west coast which specializes in such flights. Recently they flew some B-1900D aircraft from Sacramento to Honolulu to Samoa to Fiji to Australia. I've also seen Cessna Caravans make the ...

40% and more in some instance is very accurate. Take into account the paycuts and the most likely downsizing of the carriers. A pilot that was a Captain is given a 40% paycut, subsequently the company downsizes and the Captain is bumped backwards and is now a First Officer. In this scenario the pilot is down about 60%. This is not an anomaly but has occurred by the thousands at the major ...

Quoting DavidByrne ( Reply 201 ):
The announcement said "around 171 seats", so that doesn't mean it will have exactly 171 seats. I highly doubt NZ will remove Space+ as it woud loose its advantage for its FF passengers. If it did put in 171 seat as well as Space+ then NZ would quickly become THE WORST domestic airline in the worldvery quickly. Again, ...

Why wouldn't they be? Deregulation has resulted in a massive wealth transfer from labor and investors to passengers.

It's a little bit funny. In the interview he says that trying to copy the LCC-concept is not the right way for Lufthansa and I absolutly agree with him. It would be like suicide. They have their LCC daughter and should stick to offer a better product. But almost all the proposals are going into the direction of a LCC concept.
I saw another interview today (sorry, I don't remember where) ...
