the dark green/red wire is 12 volts asd with the key on it will have power for a few seconds then shut off with the engine running it should have battery voltage...The other wire is ground from the pcm, with the key on engine off it should have no ground, with the vehicle running the pcm pulses the driver, ground-no ground-ground-etcc.....not sure if an analog meter is fast enough...

I dont remember if in 92 they had the power distrubution box right next to the battery, I thought they started that in 93. But check there, if there is one there, pop the cover off and check the relays, there should be one that says trans system I think it how it is labeled. If not the best thing I can think of would be to unplug the wires from the solenoid pack on the front of the transmission and see if it will idle in gear.

2001 3.3 caravan NO START!!!
Published (2009-11-29 11:13:00)
Checked for 8 volts at the cam sensor and crank sensor. Found power at both locations. Checked for the 12v supply at the coil. Found good power supply. Checked pulse signal at each pin while cranking and each showed pulses while cranking. I noticed that when I went to unplug the connector at the coil that it was not seated entirely, which probably had been left that way when checking for power at the coil previously. Once I reconnected the...

Thanks for the response hundahunta - I don't have an engine code reader - but there is no engine check warning light before, during or after the slippage. Can't recall when the battery was last disconnected - will try it.

Disconnect the injector connector and test the voltage from the PCM while the engine is running. You can use a meter or a noid light. Don't recall the exact voltage but it's just a few volts. A noid light is just a low voltage bulb with wires to connect to the injector connector available at most parts stores.

OK. I Just hooked up an analog meter using the positive marking on the injector. I plugged the tester into the corresponding connector and the meter went the wrong way. So I reversed it (stuck the Black Prong of the tester into the "positive" side and red into the "neg") and it showed battery voltage. 12-14 volts. The meter did not fluctuate as I would expect a properly operating injector would . I also...

If the smoke out the tailpipe is thick white than you have a head gasket issue. If the smoke is black it is running rich, If the smoke is blue it is burning oil. Sounds like you may have the head gasket issue.

You don't say which model year is your van. The first generation standard length vans were around 3k lbs. The decal about tire pressure is correct, you can add 2-3 psi to it for slightly better mpg. My sister used to have an 89 standard length with the 3 liter and 3 speed and used to get around 28 mpg highway at around 65 mph.

All the way up should turn on all the dome lights except the front "map/reading" lights. The first position up will increase the brightness of the odometer, radio and overhead displays when the park lights or headlights are on. Do the lights come on when you open the door?
