With the new release of Ed's plugin for xAP / Squeezebox has anyone played with interfacing this in to Cortex? I know Cortex has native support for Squeezebox but I always wanted to customise it which isn't really possible

Are there any implications with using Idratek modules linked by the same Idranet cable across two different mains supplies? we have an upstairs and a downstairs flat that are on seperate mains supplies but want to avoid using seperate idratek installations where possible.

Might seem silly, but having yet again opened our lunch-bag to find I'd forgotten something ... can Cortex do check lists ? In other words, with an MFP in the kitchen, with the thermos-bag packed, before going out for the day, could we push a button & have an audible check-list recited to us, pausing & continuing with further button-pushes, as we choose (find we'd forgotten something) ... ... ...

Hi there, I was wondering if it was possible to have the Idratek PIRs connected to Idranet and have them connected to a standalone alarm system at the same time? I.e. PIR/ Cortex for automation purposses and PIR/ House Alarm for security. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'll soon be moving into a new property and I'm planning to wire up Idratek's products for various functions in the house. I'd ideally like to control everything from a Linux box though, is information available on the IdraNet protocol or is all the complex stuff handled by the PCD-001/PCA-001 module and will I be able to run Cortex on a Windows PC initially to ...

I have tested in principle the monitoring of each individual ring main from the consumer unit using a 1-DIN meter with pulse output. The pulse is then fed into an Idratek ODI where the Cortex can be configured to count pulses and display KWh usage. I want to move this to a permanent solution which will require a new CU. I am thinking about the following 2 - Bank Split load...

Paul seems to've found a good source of power meters ... has anyone found the equivalent for water (litres or cu.m), by any chance ... ie: reasonably accurate and affordable (& reliable) & Idratek compatible ! Ditto a water shut-off valve, hopefully quiet ... a meter & valve combination could be useful for stopping floods & giving measured amounts of water (bath, basin, ...

I noticed something new at connection properties - alternative motion source. There is no explanation in help - what can it be used for?

Yes - I deliberately sited them over typical lingering areas where possible, balancing that and trying to avoid them having line of sight through doorways too deep into adjacent rooms. In fact, in my study I had to add a sensor over the desk because the one in the MFP tends to get occluded by the open door. Based on my understanding of the beam pattern of the sensors, it seems to me a ...

wonder how clever it's possible to be with presence sensing ... eg: the following scenario : make a pot of tea, want to be called when it's ready to pour ... four-button module, one for each type of tea & so for particular times ... when time's up, whoever made the tea needs to be prompted, but could have wandered-off ... don't want to worry the whole house ... want to inform just that ...
