If it can use the c-bus network to transmit data then is should be straight forward to integrate it into a C-Bus system. Why not contact the company and ask them.

AFAIK, Modbus is not that widely used in HA, but I guess there will be devices, such as the one you quote, that can speak it. A bit more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modbus Although IP devices are becoming more common, I'd guess the current interface "standard" would be serial RS232 or 485 comms :-) HTH, Tim.

I have looked at the house heat system. And if i could read the temp and control the valves directly this would be ideal. However from what i have read this does not seem to be the case.

Who does dimmers for 25mm back...
Published (2009-12-07 10:27:00)
My plans for automating my new home have just hit a snag, I have found the house has solid walls and the current light switches have 25mm back boxes and no neutral. What options do I have for remotely controlled dimmers without dedicated cables that will fit 25mm back boxes with no neutral (and are not ugly)?

There are a load of HA systems that could fit the bill, the main things to consider are; 1) Do you want to rewire the house 2) How much money and time do you have I use X10 and only have a few problems with it, nothing that I can't live with. For a trouble free status report/no loss of signal then the only option is a hardwired solution (Idratek/Others), however this comes linked with 1), you will probably need to rewire some circuits....

Hi. I'm very new to all of this and would like some advice. I have to renew our alarm system and would like to got the "whole hog" and integrate all systems. Our property consists of the main building, complete with wireless network. Several outbuildings, some of which are and will need to be alarmed. PC Based CCTV on the front gate as well as elsewhere in the property. This catures images through hardware compression to...

Rako do one that is 19.5mm deep
http://www.mr-resistor.co.uk/item.as...7&r=751&i=6 410
And marmitek do a whole range of X10 micro modules these are only 16mm deep
AW12 MicroModule doesn't require a neutral wire.
www.marmitek.com then go to home automation and select micro modules.
Also take a look at the Enocean wireless range

The last time I wrote some web pages for windows ce I found the default browser to be awful (worse than Internet explorer 6).
However there is a version of the opera browser (for free) that should work on the device instead.

Hi JC,
There are several systems available that may also meet your needs, perhaps better than x10, which would require quite a lot of integration to link up all your requirements.
My personal choice is the Idratek system - there's quite a lot of activity on the Idratek specific forum here on AH, so you can get a feel of what it can do.

good quality six or whatever socket strips are pretty inexpensive, and current-wise the demands are quite modest, so our plan is to neatly bury everything (13A sockets, wall-warts, USB & Ethernet & CT100 patch-panels, whatever) inside box compartments fronted by a lift-up flaps, with the flaps having notches for the leads to come out ... and the hinge(s) on the lower edge of the flap and the ...
