I lubed mine for additional safety as I blew out the original backing plate. Do remember to tighten the backing plate prior to first use, maybe it looks wobley as still a little loose ??

If you polish using
traditional methods and not KBM then I would get a Flex. I have one and it's definitely cut down on the time it takes to polish a car. Plus, I'm able to remove deeper defects faster with the Flex vs. the PC.
Keep your PC around though. You can still use it with 4" pads for tight areas.

I understand your plight and please be careful buying a used tool from anyone. Usually the discount is not huge and you "might" be buying someone elses problem. Save up its worth the wait , and the newer
Griots offering is quite nice at its price point too.
