Were you thinking of having the reception at Greenmount resort? I looked at them, they have great prices and the food is supposed to be fantastic. The only reason i decided to go in another direction is because i read alot of reviews that the resort accommodation is quite poor. Although i felt confident the reception would be great I just couldn't have it there in case any of the guests decided to stay there and had a horrible experience....

If you are wanting something in the middle of town / near the gardens have you tried customs house or the pavillion? What about the Rocky Leagues or Brothers club?

Some where I would recommend for a cocktail reception with a nice garden is Kershaw House. My best friend got married there 2 years ago. The ceremony was in the garden and then we all moved up stairs (still overlooking the garden) for an afternoon tea reception. There was still tables for the older people to sit at but also heaps of room in the bar area and on the deck for people to mingle. We then had a photo session afterwards and Kershaw...

We're having our reception at the travelodge, the WC there is really nice and helpful, and i relaly like the function room there. is a bit $$, but it includes pretty much everything including centrepieces and stuff, the bridal suite, breakfast ect. my second choice would be the pavillion. its so nice there, and their $ was fairly good. customs house was alright, not what i was after. my friend had her 21st there last weekend in the cafe...

Just FYI - The Pavillion is no more - well as least as far as I can tell! When we looked at it a few months ago, the functions manager said if we wanted it we'd have to talk to someone at the Church because they were taking over the running of it. Driving past the other day I'm pretty sure it's now Curves Fitness Centre - at least it had a big Curves banner out the front - I could be wrong, but I was laughing with FH about it...

Hi Just thought I would quickly introduce myself. I have been scouting this topic for a little while now but have only recently actually become engaged. Right now I am just weighing up options and are trying to work out an outdoor wedding but am a little worried about the many weather issues to take into account considering that the site we want for our wedding is literally in a back paddock backing on to a creek. So are looking at having the...

I stumbled across some fireworks people the other day. Go to http://www.alancaseyentertainment.com.au and there is a fireworks part on that website. they are based on the gold coast. The fireworks are expensive but the bands are a really awsome price.

Congrats colleensabride! Do you live on the Sunshine Coast too? I live in Central Queensland and am organising my Mooloolaba wedding for October 13th. I'm mostly done I think. We've got one more trip down there in August and I'm hoping to get everything finalised then. Any other Sunny Coast brides?
