To me it would be a no brainer. Take the 777 to LGW and avoid LHR entirely; much more civilised airport to arrive at and you avoid several hours drive to MIA From LGW getting to Manchester is pretty easy with BA or by train The flight is indeed operated with a 3 class aeroplane with the 1st 5 rows being business class Dave

Travelling Frankfurt to Prague
Published (2009-12-22 17:17:00)
I had a quick look at the train, as I noticed that Frankfurt and prague are quite close on the Orient Express map. But it seems they are not that close, with a typical journey time of 6 hours.

I did this some 11 years ago. 37½K Business round Oz trips for myself and SWMBO and accompanying paid child business fare for 6 yo mini serfty. This was all done over the telephone with the one call. Note however, this was in the days of Paper Tickets and no telephone booking fees.

There are a few things to consider: BA Luggage acceptance policy. From memory, they won't accept bags > 2 or 3 hours before your flight, although I'm not sure if the exact same policy applies at outstations like FRA, and how it applies to J tickets. Not having luggage checked through would help with flexibility to move to an earlier flight if your fare conditions permit and there is availability. I'm not sure what I would...

As for buying the ticket at the station use Automatic machine which are very convenient and usually faster than the counter service. The ticket machines can be selected to English language and also allow you to select your seat for reservation. If you are buying a point-to-point ticket then it will be inclusive of the reservation.

You could try breaking up the SQ segments with a stopover in FRA, there tends to be more availability that way though the award might become more expensive. I had a good experience on OZ when I flew them - seats were like the Spacebeds, delightful service, and they serve Cattier NV which is a rather reasonable drop. NZ often opens up more award seats closer to travel, if you like to live life on the edge you might want to wait till the week...

Seems like a no-brainer to me. If you have a chance to avoid a transfer at MIA, and avoid LHR altogether for the somewhat less offensive LGW, I'd just take the 777. The difference in comfort between OCW and NCW is variable, depending on the personal preference of the person to whom you speak.
I also imagine that, being a prime leisure route, the MCO-LGW sector will be on one of BA's ...

They may, but do not have to.
You would need to check-in in SIN - JQ would not do this in DRW.
If mrsdoc shows up in BNE with printed copies of all e-tickets, Qantas should be able to check her through.
not sure ... have you considered other carrier out of SIN?

Are you sure you can GET J redemptions on SQ next year? With the number of routes now operating A380/77W I thought it was getting really, really difficult?
Anyway... Whilst ALSO difficult to get I'd have to recommend you have a second look at NZ... I've flown in SQ's "new" J (the big bed!) as well as NZ's "Business Premier".. and I would certainly NOT describe NZ's product as "not a patch on...

Why not hire a sporty little Italian car and drive the 774 kms.
Stop off for sightseeing, try the local food.
Sounds wonderful.
As to the airlines, never been to Italy so I can't help.

I did VA Premium Economy BNE-LAX return in August, loved it, the seat had a similar feel to the QF Domestic Business Class seats, and wouldn't hesitate in flying Y+ with them again.
I fly J alot internationally, but for a 13hr hop across the Pacific, Y+ suited me fine.

You should be able to check you luggage all they way through - bring both e-ticket copies with you when checking in in Oz.
In general, the allowance available for you on check-in is what you'll get.
