Reversing sensor issue!!
Published (2009-12-03 22:20:00)
One possibility is the thickness of the paint on the actual sensors. All are designed to be painted but too thick and you may run into problems. Also try disconnecting one sensor at a time and see if it can be reduced to a particular sensor.

missing badges is no loss, but missing the transfer case, front diff and drive shafts would be a big loss - especially when they were included in the sale. Does it say "AWD" anywhere in the sales paperwork?

LGC67, Your previous comments did not portray any understanding of the matter, nor was it helpful. It appeared more like you were trolling. As you would know there are plenty of cowboys in the industry, and painters aren't trained like they used to be. The quality of work that comes out of "most" shops these days is below par. This is driven by the insurance industry that drive down book times on jobs, so the shops then...

What Territory to buy?
Published (2009-12-01 21:04:00)
oh no, we'll never own a Daewoo. She's happy for me to research and pick the car, as long as she can choose the colour. We'd been talking about upgrading to something with 7 seats for a while. I had basically narrowed it down to an NS Pajero diesel or the Territory, using the angle that we could use something with a bit of off-road ability for camping trips etc. We go camping with our Focus loaded to the hilt with roof pod...

It's worth trying Ford if you want and trust them, but in my experience I would not bother as I would have no confidence that the twits in the 2 Canberra dealers would do anything. Which is why I am doing major suspension upgrades on my Territory which still has 6,000km and on the extended warranty.
I am using a local mechanic that is doing well by me in Canberra -Craig Hall Mechanical in ...

Nope.. Fords come out with anywhere between 110 - 150 microns of paint..
Buffing to remove the issues you speak of my remove up to 5 microns.. Therefore the paint will be fine..
The issue is getting someone whos qualified to do the job!!

Hi MickG,
All the info you are after is in the warranty & service book (the smaller book, not the owner's handbook) in the folder in your glovebox. All the tasks are pretty straightforward if you have serviced your own cars before, but getting at the oil filter is a PITA.

Hire a cement truck and extend the ramp
While i'm biased coz i own a awd terry, i wouldnt be 100% confident in the front wheels pulling you out of trouble if you got the rears bogged. Someone else will confrim the front/rear ratio but i know it is rear biased, so that with the weight over the rears would contribute to the fronts probably just slipping.

As White does not have a clear coat it can be problematic, I would personally take the vehicle to a independent detailer, someone that is reputiable.
Get their professional advice and go from there, while it is still under factory warranty.

VERY hard to say....
I don't think it would appeal to your average buyer given the modifications.
Why are you selling it?

The rears are generic falcon as they all run the same IRS cradle. Fronts are 4wd specific and require specific mounting brackets and lines, F6X & all 4wd terri's have the same uprights.
