S&P/ASX EC Index An interesting addition due to the fact there is most likely a large outlier among them is the S&P/ASX Emerging Companies Index. The Index was added this year and represents 200 microcap companies which meet specific criteria designated by a panel of ASX and Standard and Poors' representatives. Be darned if I can find the constituent list though. I swear I have looked everywhere on the internet.

I'll post this here as it's as good a place as any. Starting out, and I'm a wannabe full-time trader at this point. No real financial need, but I do have financial wants yessirree. And to that end, I'm studying as much as possible before I enter the market as an EOD trader - to begin with. There's just so much to learn, and it's easy to be overwhelmed by information if you don't stay focused on where you are.

It's interesting Bronte that you trade the SPI from 6:45am onwards. Do you find the largest moves there?

The RBA meets on the first Tuesday of every month (except Jan) to consider the target cash rate. If the RBA changes it the banks generally (but not always) adjust their home loan rates by the same amount. Today the RBA has lifted the cash target by 0.25% to 3.75% so expect a similar rise in bank home loan rates. Economically interest rate rises are negative as they increase the cost ...

I very much doubt it, unless you call an 18 year old with $1000 worth of shares a manipulator. A manipulation by a major influencing party is generally worth many many thousands, not lunch money dollars.
