Hello russellbell, As my colleague Robear has pointed out, you have 2 antivirus apps set to start with each Windows session. Doing that is ill-advised. Either set one or the other to NOT start with Windows (and if you do not know how, then de-install one of the AV products -- either Avira or Computer Assosciates Anti-Virus). Let me know if you have resolved your issues or if the same issues are still present. If you have not gotten help...

I'm pretty sure this is the virus name or Trojan name. I got sloppy with my security after about a year and a half and it hit me Symptoms: Control center pops up on bootup Hides task bar and start menu and desktop icons (fixed itself after i manually opened Power Desk 6 via task manager) Side note: AVG keeps asking me to upgrade to full version by dec 1st, don't know if this affected its ability at all Here are the scans OTL OTL...
