Seen enough Cops to know that on many older American cars high beams stuck on is an indicator that the steering column may have been busted open. (stolen) Haha.

I would go with the GTI, but I am a little bit biased. I owned 2 different MKV's and loved both of them. They are a hoot to drive, handle pretty well out of the box, or incredibly well with some modification. With a chip, intake, exhaust and downpipe, the GTI will walk all over the accord. The interior of the MKV's especially with the leather seats is miles beyond the honda as well. I'm sure the honda is a good car, as almost...

If someone is coming towards me with hi beams on I will usually flash them. Most of the time they realize their hi's are on and immediately shut them off. When a person does not turn them off, I turn mine on and leave them on until they pass. Hasn't failed me yet.

if theres no cops (and its safe) around flick yours off and then back on again. gives people a hell of a fright and it reminds them that there are other people on the road that they are being ****s to. driving with highs on is fine just dip them when someone is coming towards you or you are behind someone.

Obviously the GTI has more potential and like Colin said with software and bolt-ons it would be faster than the Accord. However, there is no comparison between the reliability of any Honda engine and the 2.0FSI. If you could afford a TSI then it would be a no-brainer. I say it's still a toss up though. With all of that said, the Accord might cause buyer's remorse once it sinks in you ...
