a couple simple gauge questions i reset my service warning tonight for the first time ever and my ambient air temperature display takes a few seconds to come up now. wtf? also, i installed a new oil level/temp sensor a couple weeks ago and it seems to read 50-75 degrees low. it is working, because it reads maybe 175 after i drive the car for a while. also, when i first start it up, it reads correctly. i remember reading about some problems...

Which car to go for?

If you want an S4, the Mazdaspeed will never be enough. If you want something practical and new, the S4 will never live up to this. Decide what is more important. If you have ultimate goals of heavy duty mods, the choice should be simple; the potential for the S4 blows the Mazdaspeed out of the water. I like the MS6. But it has no character.

i have a 034 TBB and mine has come off a few times, not 034's fault. Silicone gets very slippery no matter how much you tweak that clamp if *any* oil or water gets between the surface and the boot. Make sure it's clean (isopropyl acholoh works good) and I'd even rough it up a bit with some 4-600grit sand paper or a scubby pad.

You should definitely get the phenolic spacer (sp). I did mine in less than 3 hours by removing the manifold and I'm a total noob mechanic. It's really easy, just be careful to vacuum out all the crap around the IM gasket before removing it. Looks like a breeze compared to your piggy write up.

Aux Water Pump Replacement - Covered Before
Hey guys, I know this has been covered from place to place but I'm in a bit of a rush.
My aux coolant pump has been leaking for some time now, but recently it seems that it's gotten worse. By that, I mean that there was a puddle of coolant on the ground thismorning. So, yeah...

Vogtland coil binding
Hi There,
I recently fitted (just the rear so far!) Vogtland coilovers to a B5 S4 saloon/sedan.
The vogtland part number was 968417 which I believe is the correct one.
However, I have noticed it's noisy (knocking) at low speed when the road
surface is bumpy. Having looked at the car, I ...

Update on downpipe testing
Well they got the dyno fixed so I was able to get the final numbers for the downpipe testing running the test pipes. To recap:
Baseline Dyno (w/ piggie pipes)
313hp/348ft/lbs
3" AR Design downpipes with high flow cats. (no other changes)
338hp/380ft/lbs
So a gain of 25hp/32ft/...

We need more info... Does it need a new bumper, hood, headlights, radiator etc? Nothing is really minor with these cars given the price of parts. IMO, if any of the above things need replaced, you will quickly get back up to a "good" condition car. I guess if the car has a nice maintenance record and any mods, it may be a good deal if the parts and labor to fix don't put you at more than the ...

you can buy one used cheap enuff that doesnt have to have the bad title
from theft. And you save the work of having to fix the crashed car. I got
one stock for 10k from a dealer with only 80,000 miles, im sure you can get
one here for much less. These cars are so nice when they havent been
crashed or otherwise ruined

Wrong gas, WTF?!?
Went to the gas station this morning. It's a full service deal, and the attendant who has filled up my car made some small talk.
I followed with, "Yeah, fill it up with ninety-three (93)?"
"93, got it." and walks off.
I go over to fill up my wifes tires with air while he's doing his thing....

I am ordering a Walbro 255lph fuel pump from Vast and was also thinking about getting their W/M kit.

Re: Need advice on driving in winter
Proper winter tires go a long way. All seasons are only all seasons while there is plenty of tread life left, even so, all seasons cannot hold a candle to proper winter tires. Driving is also a factor, but that has to do with common sense, such as keeping proper distance between the vehicles ...
