Hey dudes! been a while. Anyway, on to the topic; i do not use portable music much at all anymore. I work a lot and just listen to talk radio when i drive to work. Haha, since i no longer have my MDX-CA680X i just do not listen to music anymore while driving. I did use my RH10 recently to record a lecture when taking classes to become a beer judge, so that came in handy. People were like, 'whoa what is that'. I have one little 1gb...

Very nice! As soon as I'm finished with finals, I'll have a little free time to make some more MD labels as well.

It has been a while but I think I received that error years ago when I was messing with the SS database files. I was able to get it to work by re-installing SS. Somehow I don't think that will work for you. The only thing that comes to mind is transcoding to something SS understands. I know. UGH!

To be on the safe side I'd use the backup tool to do a full backup to an external drive first. I think you'd be all right though. Are you using the latest version SS 4.3 installer? Avrin's Ultimate installer (version 2) over on Sony Insider Forums would be the best one to use. Link here .

OK, count me in! Most used unit: NHF800 Favourite recorder: MZ-B10 Favourite Deck: MDS-JB980 (and MXD-D40 for recording) Favourite uploader: RH1. That's about it. Still a daily MD user, despite having a Creative Zen and Cowon D2 for when I want/need all my music with me...

I have a supervisor from where I work. I told him about the RH1 before, I'm goinh to ask him if he needs some of his music uploaded to his computer or converted to CD or MP3's. His married though and kind of poor but I hope he can afford to get an RH1 for himself. Another brownie points for me...he he he __________________

NetMD is what came just before Hi-MD was introduced. The Net-MD units could (can) only use the so-called legacy formats (SP, MDLP2/4, Mono), and download from PC in LP2/4 and in 'fake' SP (re-encoded LP2), and have no upload capabilities. Your NH1 and NH900 can upload Hi-MD (ATRAC3+) format tracks and PCM, but not legacy. No good reason for this restriction (as far as I know), just Sony's ...

Glad to see you found another use for the updated MD technology. It seems MiniDisc is almost bullet-proof but only a few got to experience the format to its fullest. Here I sit listening to my ancient Sharp MT831 and an SP recording, seems so barbaric.....
