Your 6.5 will be better. No need for more mid power receivers unless you it's a Marantz at the right price.

I never heard a pair. I wish I could. he says he will ship if you find your own shipping company. maybe if he dropps them off at a ups store you can have them pack them for you. and pay to have them shipped. a set was listed not long ago if you look and they didnt sell for $1500 but they didn't look as nice.

Looks like a couple have sold recently on the auction site for about $100 shipped. I don't think an SX-980 would be a good comparison. I am just guessing but I think it would be more like an SX-727 probably if you want to compare with Pioneer.

Its factory but I can't tell you what it is. I remember going through some sams or a website and seen these 2 part amps. In my mind I said it would be nice to find one but I bet its hard to find both parts..

This should go in Dollars & Sense... Aside from the cabinets (fixable) and the one grill (not so fixable), they look amazing. Somebody should jump on them.

Realistic gear can't be very common where you're at. A lot of it has a nice reputation around these parts...so pick it up! (If the price is right)

Five for a buck would be more like it...unless restoring series-string TVs is your thing. Not much in the way of audio applications there...although there were some 12V "space charge" car radio tubes listed...they can be fun to play with. As it is, it was nice of the advertiser to list 'em by number.

I ran into a pair of large Advents at the thrift. They're priced @$29, I don't know if that's per speaker or for the pair. They're in decent shape, the veneer and grille cloth are a little dirty but intact. The drivers look good, but the woofers need refoaming (natch). I'm thinking $30 for the pair of unknown thrift Advents is about right, but $60 might be a little steep for pigs in a...

I have had very good experiences as a seller on the 'Gon. Unlike that auction site, you can generally be assured that the person on the other end of the transaction is both sincere and knowledgeable. Realistically priced items sell quickly. I see a few pie-in-the-sky listings (more luck to them), and the occasional insane screaming deal that goes instantly. I have tried to ...
