Hi mate, thermostats are quite a common failure on the v6 tdi engine and as you know, its a belt off job. I would check first the electrical issue you have with the temp. sensor and replace the thermostat when funds allow. If the car its high milleage, i suggest you replace the hydraulic damper next to the cambelt tensioner, bit pricey but they fail with high mileage. If you are not that far away...

Since picking up a nice S plate with 95k (now 103k) I have managed to ground out and have to replace both the auto gearbox sump and the crankcase sump. Both these items looked pre damaged and neither occurred during Dukes of Hazard driving, just landing after a humback bridge jump and later hitting a sleeping policeman. So it's ground clearance rather than anything I'm doing. The whole car is a ...

Try dieselbob, he is based in preston, Lancashire and he does top quality jobs ! I had replied to some of your other posts...dont listen these companies that say they can repair the ecu's, they are similar to ABS controllers and sometimes there is not much you can do to fix as they are very delicate inside. Diesel bobs fits brand new genuine Bosch controllers wich are set up on the bench (to ...

If it`s the PD140 engine it a design flaw that many PD140 engines do. If you find it annoying you can raise the rev limit by a few hundred RPM to cure it.
